Looks great and well built but measure your post unless...
Right out of the box I noticed the nut holding the bottom plate on was thicker. Thicker nut, more threads, better hold. The spinner handle was also bigger and easier to grip than the last strainer basket we had. Unfortunately it did not fit the Highcraft drain installed in the sink. I assumed these strainers would be interchangeable. The basket and bottom plate both measure the same. My mistake. The center post on the Highcraft model (top post in picture) measures 5/16" and the center post on this model measures 3/8". So when I tried to spin the strainer in to plug the sink it wouldn't go in. I decided to try using the post from the Highcraft on my new strainer basket. Everything fit, the plate, the nut, the spinner and even the screw to attach the spinner (which was longer, providing a better attachment). The third picture provided is the fully reassembled strainer basket. No leakage and the sink now holds water.

Perfect!!!
We had installed the fixtures with these strainers (purchased locally) about 20 years ago - the strainer lasts a very long time - the handle is made of pewter and eventually breaks, but the rest of the strainer is very durable - but isn't usable without the handle. When the handle broke on both our strainers we were worried that we wouldn't be able to find replacements that fit - these are perfect. If we could get replacement handles, we'd buy those too!

It works as should.
The best kitchen sink strainer. Doesn't leak like the last one. Would highly recommend.

Oversize drain and locking ring has a better fit
Our parents porcelain double sink's drain has an opening over 3.5". This drain which is also rated for larger opening seals without a leak. The locking ring's facets are big enough that my wrench not slip when only using one hand (a standard locking ring slips and required 2 hands to turn the wrench in place). Has decent instructions. Remember to also have stainfree (not stainless steel) plumber's putty and both a drain wrench to hold the drain in place as well as a wrench for the big drain nut.

Will not work with plastic threads
The threads on the bottom of the drain will only work with the new brass coupling. They will not work if you plan to reuse the existing plastic female threads. The metal threads on the drain are too shallow and stubby to make contact. Too bad I waited until after the return period to figure this out.

well made
I live in an apartment where the water has backed up several times into my kitchen sinks. These screw in stoppers are just what I was looking for. The drains are easy to install. All you need is a pair of wide pliers and some plumbers putty. Well made product.
