Was a bit worried with all the top reviews by folks that received the facial steamer in exchange for a review. I very much appreciated the negative reviews, since that is often how I determine if I order a product.I've been using the Spa Home Facial Steamer for several weeks to deal with both sinus and eye issues. The steamer is much quicker, easier to use and clean up than a pan of heated water. Although I had a prescription to deal with the eye issue, the doctor told me that twice a day hot compression would be necessary to repair the underlying problem of my meibomian glands being totally closed. He told me that once I got them working again, I would still need to do hot compression daily pretty much forever to keep them open. I've found using the facial steamer to be much easier and more effective.In essence, the steamer is a two-stage heating element with a low and high setting, and a molded face shield to funnel the steam directly onto the face. It heats up quickly at a much faster rate than a pan of water. Once to steam, the water in it last a bit over ten minutes.I'm still using the product and pleased with the ease of use and, in my case, the effectiveness. Not all my meibomian glands have opened up, but enough have to reduce my need to use eye drops frequently.As always, see your doctor about any medical condition. I did require a prescription to deal with the eye problem, and the facial steamer wouldn't have changed that.Update: I've had this for eleven months. It continues to work well and be easy to clean. Paired with a humidifier it has greatly reduced the eye issue. I now know to use a saline solution in eye cups if I have a flare up due to dust or grit, followed by this facial spa which reduces the duration of the inflammation. It continues to help with my sinuses, and also helped with reducing acne by probably 90 percent.

Facial steamer, can't figure out the eucalyptus oil, thought it should smell like cough drops, but it smells like Tea Tree oil--must be a species spelled euclayptus (sic) not eucalyptus. Anyway, the euclayptus (sic) oil had somehow leaked just a little and permeated the whole apparatus. Took a while to get the yucky smell out. As far as steaming, it works well, maybe a little more steam at first, so you tend to keep face father out of hood, but if it doesn't out out as much, just put your face farther into the hood and it is more than enough steam. I like it for steaming face :)

This steamer is amazing!! It is easy to use and works so well. My son has suffered with horrible acne and has tried everything except Accutane. He wanted to try the steamer to help open things up so he could clean his face better. Wow!!! It is helping his acne so much. It softens the dried up areas and the blackheads and pimple just come right out. He can get a way deepen clean afterward. This steamer is perfect and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!! I don't have acne but I have used it several times because it softens the skin so nicely that your makeup will set beautifully!!! Please try it!!!

Not much anticipated and good product. Very simple and not such use of it.

I got this for my aunt as a gift and the bottle was empty. Other than that, the facial steamer works. I would like to be able to get a replacement bottle rather than returning the entire thing.

It just doesn't put out enough steam. It doesn't hold enough water and steam long enough. There are way better steamers out there.

I bought this facial steamer because filling a bowl with boiling water and leaning over it with a towel over my head to capture the steam wasn't working for the whiteheads I have on my nose and around my mouth and chin. I've been using this steamer for several weeks and am delighted with the results. My pores are much "cleaner," meaning that there are fewer and fewer whiteheads every week. I use it 2-3 times per week and add a couple of drops of the Eucalyptus Oil that came with it; ten minutes later, I can remove more whiteheads than the last time. It also makes my skin silky smooth. Just one warning - don't add more than 2-3 drops of the oil or you won't be able to breathe with too much of a concentration. I highly recommend this steamer.

I purchased this steamer to help with a recurrent lung infection and this steamer did the trick. I had been on 4 courses of antibiotics to treat recurrent lung infection due to the side effect of some prescription medicine I was on and it wasn't really helping to stop the infections. I use the Steamer now everyday with essential oils like tea tree, lemon extract, oregano oil extract, and eucalyptus together everyday to keep infection at bay. Essential oils are a great alternative to conventional antibiotics in my case. I read that using essential oils with a personal steamer is even being used to treat antibiotic resistant TB. I have tried many steamers but this one is the only one that seemed designed to stand up to essential oils and it does so easily. You can use the steamer as a facial, to help with upper respiratory infections, and even lung infections. Customer service was also great and took care of my first steamer that had a minor electrical glitch with the light in the front of the unit going out by providing me a new steamer.
