These fids are made in the USA by the Samson Co. and sold by an American company headquartered in the State of Washington. Excellent communication and service and a quality product. An instructional DVD was included in my order and I'll soon be on my way to making quality splices.

Bought the one for 1/4” rope, it is a quarter of the size of the rope, waste your money somewhere else, unless you are looking for a metal toothpick

This is a very solid fid. My four stars is due to the end of the fid only having minimal depth to feed the rope into to pass it through. I just thought it could be a little deeper. Now, please note, I am very new at this and there may be very good reason they are built this way.

You just get the 1 tool. And with the rope I got, it is VERY hard to use. I have the tool that is recommended for the size of a rope . I had to cut the tool out of the rope on the last step of the loop . It would not go all the way through. I will try one more time using soap as lube.

Fair price, but the open end is a little narrow making it difficult to insert rope

I gave this five stars because it is what it is, it is just an aluminum rod with a pointed end and a hollowed out end, but for the job it does it is perfect!

If you’re splicing double braid rope, you’ll need a fid, and Samson is pretty much the industry standard.Columbia Basin Knot Co. sells them at a very fair price and ships fast.Great transaction.Thanks!!
