A classic Dr. Martens silhouette, the 8-eye 1460 Greasy is all about the leather: a matte black with a waxy, oily feel. Built on top of a rugged yet refined sole, this boot is premium comfort disguised as sleek style.

You need to break them in.
Good looking, great quality dressy boots. Great value for the money.

Always have a pair
Packaged very neatly, the leather was not at all warped or damaged. I have always had a pair of docs and I still get excited every time I get a new pair.

Love the classic look and feel of the 1460s
I had just bought the Dr. Martens Men's Sussex Work Boot and loved the fit. But I kept nurturing this secret love affair with the 1460 and its yellow stitching. I had to have it, and figured the fit would be at least as comfortable as the Sussex. I wasn't wrong. I'm so happy with these boots. They will be a daily wear for me this winter and I'll wear the Sussex when I need something a bit more dressy, like with slacks. The 1460 go perfectly with a pair of black skinny stretch jeans and an oversize black shirt. The "greasy black" leather is so soft and feels great as it conforms to my foot. These boots are really light weight and can be worn for long periods, like all day. The soft leather, I doubt would be suitable as literal WORK boots like out in the elements. Get some Red Wings or Rock Roosters for that. If and when my beloved 1460s wear out, I'll just get another pair. I might try another color before that happens though. They offers so many options... you gotta just keep buying them! It is a classic look and suitable for anybody.

4 Star
I bought this one for my brother he is very happy. I gave 4 star because honestly I am not really happy with the texture of the outside skin, but I know its an original leather though. For the fit, He said it just fit good but not too comfortable and I think just because it still new.Overall he is very happy with it and I think its worth with the price.

Pleased with the Boots.
This review is for the Black Greasy, Vietnam-made 8-hole boot. I wear a US size 10 in nearly every shoe on the market, and ordered a UK 9/US 10 male for this boot. They fit perfectly; maybe a little roomy in width but that is much better than too tight in a boot like this. They appear excellently made, look perfect, and are by far the most comfortable pair of Doc's I've ever encountered just out of the box. I think this is my fourth or fifth pair over the years, ranging from the early '90s through 2015, so I have some experience with this type of boot. I was able to get an excellent deal through an Amazon third-party seller (about $20 less than the Dr. Marten's website price, and free shipping) and am very happy with the boots and the purchase in general.

Proper Product and Proper Service
I have owned many pair of Dr Martens and this pair was definitely of the expected fit and quality. There is a slight defect. The flaps with the eyelets for the shoelaces (I have no idea of the appropriate term, sorry) on one boot are slightly misaligned. It is not particularly noticable really accept when I am lacing them. It does not seem to affect the fit at all either so no reason for sending them back in my opinion. As for service I used the Amazon Prime free trial with free two day shipping and not only did the package arrive a day early it actually arrived ON Memorial Day (Gov. Holiday for those not familiar). Just this morning I ordered myself another pair of Docs of a more flashy style for outside of work.

Be patient with breaking them in
The leather fights back, but worth the few days of pain. After that, I think that they are more comfortable than any running shoe (to wear casually). I have wanted these for 25 years, and could not afford them until now. I feel I can re-live my 90's stone temple pilot and soundgarden grungy life on one end, feel that they are rugged enough to hike with, and after a shoeshine, I can wear with a nice shirt and jeans. Again......be patient with breaking them in.....its worth it in about a week.
