Worth every penny.
For what this is and the cost I have to give 5 stars. Easy to assemble. When used over the last two days to shred up hedge and tree cutting the Einhell performed really well. I tried out a piece of branch around 700mm long and suggested width of 40mm...and it ate it. One thing I would say is that I have seen other reviews complaining about blade wear. I can say that after 4 hours use the blades had gone a little dull...but so easy to remove and turn round to use the other side. But with ANY piece of cutting or chopping equipment...you must be prepared to spend a little time in removing the blades and re sharpen....hardly a chore. All in all...does what it says on the tin...and for a tad over £100 worth every penny. I think you could spend £250 and not get any better performance.

Good for light shredding
Assembly instructions not crystal clear but easy enough to put it together. Machine is light and easy to move around and works well, although does have a tendency to block if too much green waste is pushed through. Given relatively small opening for waste to be inserted it takes a long time if you have a lot of stuff to process. My only real grouse is the securing screw which has to be undone to take the top off to clear any blockages - you have at least 10-15 turns to completely unscrew it. Can't see that it makes things any safer than, say, 2 turns, and it is certainly irritating when the machine blocks fairly frequently. Overall, not bad for light shredding.

Great value garden shredder
I have a large garden surrounded by hedges on all side which often leaves me with surplus hedge cuttings, twigs from old trees etc. Over time, I've accumulated several ton bags full which are fairly unsightly. With summer fastapproaching, I looked into hiring a shredder to get my garden summer ready. I was agast when I found out how much it cost to hire a garden shredder, and most companies had stipulations which made me hesitant to hire one. With a budget of less than £100, I stumbled upon this small domestic machine online. The reviews seemed to good to be true but I decided to risk it. I'm so genuinely glad I did. What value for money. It was super easy to set up with minimal idiot proof assembly. It was light enough for me to easily manoeuvre around the garden so I got straight to work. It came with a little garden bag to collect the shreddings which was easy to hook on. I was seriously impressed with how easy it was to use and how quickly and consistently it made light work of my branches and turned them into fairly fine great quality mulch. My old eyesore cuttings have now been turned into useful mulch to surpress the weeds in my garden beds. While it recommends branches of less than 4.5cm, most of my off cuts were less than that anyway anyway andit did a fantastic job. I'm so glad I bought it. Even if it just gets me through the bags I've already accumulated I will be happy. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a decent quality budget shredder.

I won't be buying Einhell again!
[Einhell Electric Shredder] I am deeply disappointment due to the fact that this is basically quite a good machine, when working well it does a great job, unfortunately it is TOTALLY let down by the inferior blades. The machine arrived in good time, was easy to put together and my wife was using it the next day, within 2 hours of use it was jamming up inside, after cleaning it out I found this was due to the blades loosing their edge so I turned them around to the sharp side and put it away. The next time I was using it (on nothing bigger than 15mm) and within the same 2 hours it was again blocking up due to the wood not being cut properly.I ordered a new set of blades thinking the blades may have been faulty but once again, after 2 hours or so of work the new blades were not cutting properly and needed turning around to the sharp edge (2 sided).I have a feeling this is a strategy used by Einhell, sell a cheep machine but make the blades so they need changing regularly so they make more profit over time. The blades are £15 a time so over the life of the machine you will have paid well over the cost of an expensive machine. If you don't change the blades you end up forcing the branches through and having to clean the blockages out often, which I have noticed others complaining about.I moved recently, giving my old shredder away with the idea of buying a new one, I had had that one for over 10 years without a blade change so it can be made to last and it isn't due to me putting anything in the machine that I shouldn't! Oh I wish I had kept that machine!I recommend you think twice about buying this shredder from Einhell, I most certainly won't be buying anything from them again.I now have to decide whether to cut my losses and take the shredder to the dump or find a blade that will fit and last longer, which I doubt I will be able to! But I am not giving Einhell any more of my hard earned cash .

It works as it say
Wanted to use up my garden wast using the cutting from my garden to enrich my soil and provide it own eco environment for my garden where mulch and compost comes from the garden itself. This machine does the work of shredding the small branches but care have to be taken with it. You have to ensure the branches are cut not to large and fairly straight. You cannot overload the machine you have to turn it off and give it some rest interval. You have to empty the bag if not you can cause built up inside of machine which requires that you open the machine to clear it.The machine cannot deal with branches that have leave and with to much green materials it get clog up. I overcome this by leaving my cutting to dry out then do the shredding a week or so later not the same day they are cut. I find it works best without the machine getting clogged up.It very noisy but it cut the material so I can scattered it around my garden. Larger branches I still have to cut up myself with looper and other mean but it does what it said it will do. You just have to exercise care and attention when using it.
