Waypoint GeographicOdyssey Globe

I was nervous about ordering a globe online and I was nervous about the price; however, upon receiving this globe, my concerns were dispelled.This one in particular is very aesthetically pleasing and feels of premium material - very smooth, cool to the touch and quality feeling. Not at all like the "paper" or "cardboard" feel I was expecting.Assembly is very quick and easy. The globe itself is already in one piece and you just have to attach it to the base.All things considered, I think this is priced fairly in the $50 - $75 range and is well-suited for someone seeking a quality globe for display and reference.

The kit did not include the necessary washer. The bolt was not long enough to acvo.modate the wooden riser. I had to use stuff that i had at home.Unhappy with this product.

The Odyssey Globe from Waypoint Geographic is an excellent value. I received a globe that is flawless in its construction and alignment of segments. It arrived safely packaged in a protective box that was almost as sturdy as if it was made out of wood which was inside another box for shipping. The package included clear instructions for assembling the three parts: the globe, a wood spacer, and the base. This is for my 9-year old son who will now easily understand where countries and cities are located in relationship to us. Plus, this globe has the ocean topography identified. Perfect for a kid who is curious about learning things we don't normally see on maps or other globes. Thank you, Waypoint. Nice job!

Very nice product. The lettering is quite readable and not crowded. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if it would have had raised relief.

I would have given this product 5 stars if I hadn't had to return the first one I received because of a cross-threaded screw. The globe must be assembled to the base, and it's almost impossible not to cross-thread the screw because the female nut is coated with a lacquer. This coating should have been removed from the nut before shipment. The second globe I received was easier to thread, and the globe itself is excellent.

I imported this all the way to India 'cause I wanted a "nice" globe superior to those locally available. It arrived in super fast time and was extremely well packaged. Installation was an issue though as the piece I received had a mismatch between the screw at the base of the globe and the insert in wooden base. So we had to work at it to expand the screw slot. Also, the paint and wood base are prone to chipping. Looks nice after being installed but a fair bother.

I normally leave very positive reviews but with this globe, For over $150, including shipping and tax, I am very disappointed, even insulted. The wooden base is nice and solid, but the globe...! The colors are fade, not very attractive nor inviting, but the worse part is that this globe is sold in Canada and every countries are noted on this globe - EXCEPT CANADA. To a foreigner looking at this globe, the perception of this globe is that this mass up north is part of the United States and this is just insulting to me, to my ancestors, and to the other 37+ million Canadians (and ancestors). The seller, from Ontario, Canada, did apologize and said they would notice the manufacturer. Will the manufacturer do something about it? I doubt it. The seller also said they will repay my return shipping fees. I did return it (I couldn't keep it, understandably) and let's see if the seller will indeed repay the return shipping fees...
