Just What I Wanted
In the 1970s I owned something called a Daily Double, which was a double-ended dental tool with a toothbrush on one end and a floss holder on the other end. The brush was soon used to the point of uselessness, but I used the floss holder for years. Eventually the plastic broke, after a couple of decades of use. When I went to buy another, to my dismay there were none to be found. The floss holders for sale at the local drugstores seemed to be made for people with tiny hands and perfect teeth. They were more like doll toys. Many were disposable or only used proprietary dental floss sources. I gave up and went to a water pick, which is fine most of the time but sometimes just can't get at stubborn bits of food stuck between my molars. I was sometimes reduced to using sharp tweezers to remove those bits of fiber. This tool is large enough for me to grasp firmly so that I can jam the floss into the tight gaps between my back teeth. It is long enough that I don't have to have my hand all the way in my mouth to reach those teeth. It uses generic floss. It does have one weakness. If you only wrap the floss around the knob provided for that purpose, it won't stay tight on the tool if you need to apply a lot of pressure to it. But you can wrap it around the knob, then around the handle, and then around the knob again, and it will stay. If you do this with both ends, it takes about 18" of floss instead of 12", but I have years and years worth of dental floss that I was given by dentists and never used. I don't think I will run out soon.

Great alternative to disposable picks!
It works great. Sometimes the floss gets loose but I wind it several times around the post at bother ends and this helps. Just pinch the top together while loading and it is nice and tight. Much better than putting all of that plastic in the landfill from the disposable ones. They cannot be recycled because they are too small and fall through the equipment.

Too bulky and floss comes off
Very large and awkward to use. Was looking for a more eco friendly alternative to disposable picks, but this is not it. Floss becomes detached while using, and it is just too big to comfortably use. May as well have my hand in my mouth with nothing but floss. No thanks.

2 Pack Butler Floss Mate review
I received a blue and red floss mate handle when my purchase arrived and I'm very happy with my purchase. The floss mate handle holds the floss so I can easily and quickly floss between my teeth. I also like being able to set the tension on the floss by how tightly I pull the floss between the two ends of the floss mate handle. You just have to make sure that you don't put too much tension on the floss or the plastic ends will break off. I would recommend this floss mate handle to anyone that wants to floss their teeth quickly and easily.

Still not as easy as a flosser
I was hoping to find a replacement for the one-time use flossers, and this comes closer, but its larger size makes it not quite as easy to use as a disposable flosser. And the floss slips off sometimes. Would love to find a small, metal appliance the size of the disposable flosser that I could refill with floss. Refuse to use the one-time plastic ones anymore!

Has a flaw that's not really its fault
This impliment "should" work. It is nicely engineered and it does what it says. The problem (that I had no idea would exist when I bought it) is that it just gets hopelessly stuck between my teeth. This is mostly caused by the fact that it is crucial that the angle that you pull it out at must be exactly correct in two planes. And, it is a little different for each tooth! Perhaps if i only had this tool or nothing, then after enough months of training, I could get it to be better than using my hands to hold the floss. I wanted this to work - I really did. Perhaps if you have perfect teeth with perfect, uniform and adequate separations between all your teeth, then this tool might work for you. If your teeth tend to bind up much at all on the floss that you use by hand, then it if pretty certain that this tool will drive you mad.

Everyone needs these!
These are amazing. I don’t know why they are impossible to find in stores. I’ve been trying to cut my single use plastic use down, and part of that change has included updates to my dental care regime . Using this with silk floss has been an awesome change, and I’ve been flossing more regularly since I got them. Love!

Waste of everything
Don't waste your money. The floss dosent stay right and if your teeth are close together at all it dosent work. I tried it once and threw it away. It's a bigger hassel then flossing the normal way
