Great book for tennis players of all ages
I thoroughly enjoyed this insightful, poetic and humorous book describing the tennis world over the past six decades as well as providing a guide, at least for me, for living a richer senior life with or without a racket. Wonderful!

A good follow-on to A Handfull of Summers
Having read Forbes' A Handful of Summers, I wanted to enjoy more of his writing style and this did it for me. AJ

Gordon Forbes just passed away in Plettenberg Bay at 86 from Covid.
These three books are laugh out loud double over and wipe tears away funny. His moral compass is due North and the stories about tennis in the 50s and 60's reflect upon today's champions in a new way. Do yourself a favor, forget about everything and enjoy a delightful memoir or three.

Loved the book
Loved the book .... Gordon has a unique way of writing ... hilariously funny at times combined with some thought provoking ideas.A Handful of Summers still his best book, but this one is well worth reading.

Don't bother
If you are expecting a book similar to Handful of Summers, then don't buy this book about his lunches with his buddies.

A Tennis Trilogy ...
Having read and enjoyed Mr. Forbes' two other books, I had to read his third. Any tennis player or fan who is old enough to remember the pre-Open era of amateur tennis will love them all. A kinder, gentler, more interesting time before money and advertising overtook the sport.
