Not made in USA - misleading
Headgear seems nice. Solid detents. However, the blurb about Sellstrom being one of "America's Oldest Safety Brands" was an influencer in my decision, IE I like to support USA when I can. It was a disappointment to have it arrive with Made in Taiwan on the box and the shield...am seriously considering returning for the UVEX which states made in USA.

Dig this face shield!
It is comfortable to wear for hours on end and the ratcheting system is great because it allows for easy manipulation of the headband size, which I have to change when it is cold and I'm wearing a beanie. The shield and chin protection feature is great and keeps those nasty shavings and chips from hitting you in the face and neck. I would have given this 5 stays, but it still fogs up a little bit when I'm wearing a dust mask and have the shield pulled down low on my chin, but the fogging isn't bad and only affects the lower portion of the shield which really isn't in my field of view so much anyway.

I had to pick another item instead
I purchased this item, but it had scratches on the face shield. I decided to replace the item, but there was no such an option to do so. I returned the item and decided to purchase a new one, however, there was no more similar ones available and I ended up purchasing one without chin guard, which was not what I originally had in mind.I would have been much more satisfied with my purchase if I could have simply replaced the damaged item with another one.

Comfortable and gets the job done
This is a comfortable, adjustable faceshield that gives me piece of mind when working on the lathe. I was concerned about fogging, but it's ok with this shield. The fogging might last for a split second but dissipates quickly enough that it's not a visibility concern. Breathing is good, and the shield lifts up easily in a way that doesn't cause the headbands to come out of place. I would recommend this shield.

Excellent quality
Good quality, I bought it for wood turning, but soon found I liked the security when grinding over my regular safety glasses.Never fogs, stays up when I want it to, better than I expected which is rare nowadays.

Confortable and Effective
I like the ratchet adjustable headgear - much better fit as compared to cheaper snap-style type. Only complaint is that the chin guard tends to trap heat and humidity under the mask when it contacts your clothing. I re-adjust mine when I am working at angles that cause the chin guard to make contact with my body.

Great protection while grinding
Tried using goggles but found that a good face shield like this works very well protecting from metal pieces while using the grinder. Hasn't fogged up or malfunctioned yet and is very easy to use. highly recommend

Innacurate description, for the DIY guy, buy something else
Images representing this are not accurate. In the display image on the manikan, the fulcrum point is located behind the ear, with the face shield covering a lot more of the side of the face.In actuality, the fulcrum point is in front of the ear. This is a significant difference when talking about coverage for the side of your face, 3-4 inches. For reference I've provided a photo, I have a small head, if you have a normal or large head, you'll have even less coverage. After suffering an injury from my last pair due to a gap in the side of the face, this is not going to work.Seems to be built well, but if you ever have to work in confined spaces where there is risk of richochet, this provides significantly less protection than some of the competitors products.

lens is crystal clear
i use this product for lathe turning..works great! lens is crystal clear and it adjusts perfectly to any head shape or form. i wear a baseball cap backwards to keep debris from landing on top of my head and have no problem wearing the face shield. one lil drawback is that it can get a lil warm on your face from breathing but it's worth the safety factor and you get use to it. also very light weight and the added soft foam cloth band on the front headpiece that fits around your forehead is a nice comfortable feel and also help keeps the sweat from rolling down into your eyes. worth every penny and it's well made

Well worth it and it works!
Glad I bought this, shortly after a purchased this a piece of wood come of the lathe and bingo right on the shield. This shield is light weight comfortable, and optically clear at times I forget I have it on. Good value and good protection

Comfortable and does not fog.
As nice as the $80 Lee Valley face shield. Very comfortable for long periods and often forget that it is on. No fog and no static to attract dust and chips, particularly when turning acrylics. Excellent deal.

Very comfortable, scavenger hunt for replacement shield
Great value and comfort for this unit, but almost impossible to find replacement shields when the original inevitably gets scratched and fogged.
