Seems to be an effective, quality product
I used three 40x80 inch sheets to cover the seat tops, seat fronts and the 48x90 inch flat floor of a Lowe Aura aluminum jon boat. The Dull Dead Grass paint gets the aluminum so hot in the sun that it would painfully burn skin, even through shorts, making the boat practically unusable during the middle part of a sunny day. Grandkids and Grandpa were hollering Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! every time time they touched the hot metal. The SeaDek mat instantly ended the burns, added skid resistance, and made the inside of the boat softer and much more quiet. I used the Storm Gray / Black color mat, which has a texture similar to corduroy. The top layer of the mat is a medium gray over a bottom layer of black. The mat cuts easily with sharp razor knife. Installation is pretty straight forward, check out some videos. Here's what worked for me:1. As received the mat had serious curling issues from being rolled up tightly. Reverse roll it for a day or two to help neutralize the curl by using straps or clamps. Smaller pieces I had cut to size were rolled up in whatever direction was needed and put inside boxes to help control the curling. Try to avoid or minimize any separation of the backing paper when bending the mat, as any exposed adhesive may start drying before installation. The backing paper seems to stiffen the mat quite a bit. When I was test fitting the mat around bends on the boat seats, that stiffness made me afraid to try bending the mat over a one inch radius curve. I am now convinced that the mat, with the backing paper removed, would easily bend over that curve, especially if there were at least 3-4 inches of mat on both sides of the curve.2. Make paper templates to remove any doubts about measurements, especially with odd shapes.3. Use metal straight edges to guide the cuts, and even then, be careful to avoid razor wander. I used 2 foot and 4 foot Stanley Max Stick aluminum ruler / cutting guides, which have built-in fences to protect fingers from any razor slips. Whenever possible, I would clamp the straight edge, mat and the backing or cutting board together, for safety and to prevent the straight edge from slipping.4. Bevel cut the edges at about 45 degrees rather than make vertical, 90 degree cuts. Since the mat is about 1/4 inch thick, I figured the bevel will be less likely to catch shoes and things which might start lifting the mat. Allow about 1/4 inch for these bevels on a new cut. Course sandpaper can also be used to soften the edges of 90 degree cuts, such as the factory edges. For the same reasons, I cut 45 degree angles on all of the 90 degree corners, from about 1/2 inch to 1 inch wide, depending on the size of the mat piece.5. After making the scoring cut in the backing paper, use tape to help hold one half of the mat in position while removing the backing strip from the other half. I would peel away only about 4-6 inches of backing paper initially on a piece of mat, roll it gently, verify positioning is correct, then roll firmly. I used a 4 inch wide laminate roller to set the adhesive and eliminate air bubbles by rolling from the score line toward the end of the mat. Remove more backing paper and repeat the rolling. A word of warning - using the roller firmly really anchors the adhesive, so double check the mat's position before applying pressure with the roller.

Awesome stuff; get it.
Really awesome improvement to my boat. So much better feeling in my body after a long bumpy ride off shore. Looks way cooler too i think. And kneeling down or even lying down is a oleasure insteadI looked into competitor products wasn't all that much cheaper, an many of those reviews like color bleeding made me nervous. The price of professional instal was quite high. Higher than i wanted to pay. So i spent memorial day weekend templating cutting an sticking. While my lines are not all perfect and its a lot of work it isn't brain surgery and i am stoked at results so do it if you thinking about it.

Good value for the DIY-er
Real deal Seadek. I was thinking it would be 39”x77” like most full sheets are, but not is a true 40”x80”.
