Excellent historical account!
So many accounts of the history of the Coeur d'Alene tribe have been written with a decidedly Jesuit slant. This account of the history of the forming of the reservation and the pressures exerted on the indigenous people to conform to 'civilization' is both accurate and factual. Laura Woodsworth-Ney does an excellent job with her deep research in relating the forces behind the creation of the Coeur d'Alene Indian reservation. I highly recommend it!

outsiders view
A scholarly account weakened by its overwhelming dependence on outside sources and old views. Recent advances in American Indian studies would suggest this should have been a better work.
