Music Theory - A Practical Guide for All Musicians Book/Online Audio

This is the fifth Barrett Tagliarino book I have bought, and they all have been winners. Mr. Tagliarino is not only an accomplished guitarist--there are a lot of them out there--but he also is a gifted TEACHER. He explains things with a profound simplicity. It is as if he remembers what it was like not to know this stuff at one time, and he provides helpful hints and tips to get the student through the material. Wonderful! If I had one book that I would recommend to a new student of music desirous of learning music theory, this is it.

Barrett's practical and accessible books show how good he is as an instructor. I own his books on Music Theory and Guitar Fretboard and these are THE BEST that I have seen on music instruction... period. Difficult concepts are broken down into small steps and driven down using the workbook approach (i.e. written practice) with the answer key included. When I look for new stuff I check first to see if Barrett has written about it. I've also found books by Mark John Sternal to be very good.I hope Barrett (and his publisher) continues to produce more advanced music instruction material, and arranges his books into a "recommended" program. The workbook format works great and can be complemented by cds, dvds, web instruction, computer music software (sonar, cubase?) etc.

This was a book I needed for class

The audio does not come with the kindle version; learning musical concepts is challenging without the audio tracks that were supposed to accompany the book

I was very pleased with this product. We found out at the last minute that my son needed this book for a college course. It was delivered in a fast manner. He recieved the book in time for his first class. Thanks so much.

This book is too general. This is not practical music self help book.It skims over music theory. Do not waste your money on this book.

I purchased the title for Kindle. The previous reviews were fine, the CD tracks would help. Unfortunatly the Kindle version has no CD (fair enough) but no digital version of the tracks either. Kindle has an mp3 player so it should be feasible to have tracks issued with the download of the book.Amazon did refund quickly but they should have higher standards than juts copying description of the paper edition. Kindle is unique and so should the ebooks description be unique to Kindle purchases
