Very nice unit
This works very well. I have a hose hooked to the back that leads to a drain in the laundry room so it is basically turn it on and forget it. It has brought the humidity way down in my house. It is also well-designed and easy to use. When I first got it I used the attached bucket for water collection and then emptied that a couple of times a day. I compare this to my friend's dehumidifier that I bought for her last year. My TCL dehumidifier is superior in every regard, even down to the convenience of of using the attached bucket. When I empty hers, it is very off-balance and heavy and hard to remove and reattach to her unit. My bucket, OTOH, is a breeze to use and, even though it holds as much water as hers, it feels much less heavy because it is so well-balanced using the handle. Plus, the bucket is easy to remove and reattach. I pretty much like everything about this TCL dehumidifier and would buy it again.

Works great!
This has been a life saver! We recently purchased a 1,500 sqf home and the central air unit is getting up there in age. Last summer it struggled a bit. This year we got this and it helps keep the house cooler and takes the pressure off the a/c. It pulls a lot of moisture from the air and makes a huge difference. It is easy to use and easy to empty. It isn't whisper quiet but, not much louder than a fan on high. Highly recommend and it is a great value for the price.

Great dehumidifier
I originally ran the unit just in the % target mode and manually emptied the bucket. I thought the castors were missing but found them floating in the bucket on the 2nd check. So do fish around in the crevices to find that parts bag. There is also a black fitting that needs to be used when trying to hook up the pump line.At first I just pressed the clear hose into the back and selected pump, causing water to spill out the back. Perhaps that is what others consider leaking? Anyways, after properly attaching the adapter and clear hose the pump action works well. You do need to empty the bucket and let the water fill again. It will use the filled water to help overcome gravity and pump through the 16' clear line. I have mine going up about 6" into an exterior clean-out where I added a P trap. Perfect since water goes right into the drain and set it in continuous mode.Things to add would be silver anti-microbial treatments. Same little inserts you need to put into the water of a humidifier to keep gross stuff from growing. Very cheap and easy, I am sure you could even drop in a pool chlorine tab. I also bought a cheap wifi security camera to point at the dehumidifier. Easy to check how it is doing.

Works well
I have had this unit for a year and a half. It can fill its tank in less than 12 hours usually, so is effective. It has died recently with an E2 error code. Troubleshooting has found a bad temp sensor on the evaporator line. a few bucks from Amazon and it will be back up. I typically leave my unit running 24/7 and set it in the sink of my farmhouse to drain continuously. Five stars before the failure.

Great value with one shortcoming
For the money this seems like a great dehumidifier. My one gripe is that when the humidistat setting is reached, the dehumidifying mechanism (the compressor?) kicks out, but the fan keeps blowing as long as the unit is powered on. I got around this problem by using a smart power supply to plug it into. I could set the supply to turn on for only a couple of hours twice a day to keep my basement within my target parameters.

Poor performance and early failure
This dehumidifier has failed after running it for a few hundred hours over 3 months time. If you need a reliable dehumidifier to protect property or anything of value you should avoid this model and brand. When it worked it would do a poor job in a nearly sealed 150 square ft room with around 70% RH. The RH would never get below 50%. It would raise the temp into the 80s, too. The high fan speed is like a blow dryer. Using almost 400 watts I would expect better. After moderate use over a few weeks it started to randomly blow cold humid air back into the environment. If I turn it off and on a few times it seems to work again for a bit. Experimenting with it I've found it actually starts to add to the humidity in the room - like it's turned on reverse and become a high-powered humidifier.Another problem is the continuous drain hose feature is unreliable as well. I used a properly connected drain hose but sometimes it will start filling the bucket instead. The bucket fills up in about 4 hours and then once again it sits there using up electricity to blow cold and humid air. I confirmed my drain hose has no kinks, it stays below the drain exit, the humidifier is on a level surface, etc. I tried both a garden hose as well as 1/2 inch irrigation tubing and hose fitting and both failed to work for continuous draining.I reached out to support (30 minute wait) and they had me try this process:1. Unplug the dehumidifier for at least 3 minutes, then insert the plug.2. Press the POWER button to turn on unit;3. Press the up or down temperature button to set humidity to 40;4. Press the FAN SPEED button and TIMER button at the same time and hold unit the dehumidifier beeps 4 times. If the system beeps 2 times repeat the process again until the dehumidifier beeps 4 times.5. All above steps must be finished within 5 minutes. This works for about 3 hours, then the dehumidifier starts blowing cold humid air once again. I'll try support again but expect a replacement will be just as bad. This is the last TCL product I ever buy.

Encantado
