When Ash Isn't Quite Ash
To be fair, I'm sure that getting a color match for a species that is going to work on every instance of that species is a tall order, but this stuff is PALE. When applied to an ash coffee table I'm working on, the places we used this were really obvious. I ended up getting two water stains and mixing them to try to tone down the brightness. I might experiment next time with just adding a drop of a darker color to the mix because my experience thus far says it is much better to have the right color in the filler than to try to come back with a stain after the fact. That being said, being able to mix up only what you need has some real advantages. I'm not sure those advantages are so much greater than just using the sanding dust with some CA glue to make your own wood filler, but it is all part of the learning process...

works great
I do not know what this stuff is made out of but it seems otherworldy. I seal the wood before application of this product. It will darken.

Works well - GREAT EVEN
Is easy to mix and use and easy to finish. I definitely prefer it to the plastic based fillers.UPDATE: I now really love this stuff. I used it when replacing red oak stairs. The treads are finished and clear coated. Now I had to use some small trim screws to tighten up some lose joints. Used this stuff to fill in and cover the trim screw hole, waited overnight and used a damp paper towel to 'sand' down the filler. This avoided having to sand on the already finished part of the wood. Once dry from 'wet sanding' just dabbed on a little spar varnish and voile - perfect.

Inadequate Amount
The small bag of 'Filla in a Bag' that I received did not make much putty! I was hoping because it was powdered that it'd be an economical way to purchase this product. But the package I got made made very little putty. It's an excellent putty, and smells a lot better than some of the competitors. I'll have to do a more careful sampling but I suspect buying the putty pre-mixed instead is probably more economical.

Good product but very strong sent not for those with allergies
This product does what I hoped, no more waste from having a tub of wood filler dry up on me. It is easy to spread and mix. However, I did not expect the strong cedar smell. Almost like a fake cedar perfume. Immediately started sneezing as I have serious allergies. The smell is lingering even after I'm done and cleaned up. Not sure I can use the rest of the bag given my reaction to it which makes me sad. I get having a scent to it that's more pleasant than sawdust or glue like some of them smell but this is a bit much.

Good but expensive
This is a similar but better product to Durham Water Putty which costs $11 for 4 lbs vs $10/ lb here. Like to support US entrepreneurs but…. Compared to Durham, this spreads easier which leads to better finish. Easier to Sand and it comes pre- colored but you can stain Dunhams after it dries Yes it has a funky smell but it leaves as it dries. I use Durhams for large fill jobs, let it dry and then finish with Goofilla. The premixed is great to fill nail holes and small cracks.
