These are great. They don’t last as long as I would like. They tend to catch a lot of slag from grinding. I leave it shut to make it last longer. I will buy many more.

I was looking for a face shield I could use for grinding and plasma cutting. Face shields with a fold down #5 shield were $40 and up. I bought the 3M face shield (part 90028-80025) for $11 and this #5 shield for $13. I drilled 2 holes in the upper portion of the shield and it screwed and fit right on like it belonged there! $24 total for a nice shield for grinding and plasma!

Title says 8"x8" but it is actually only 4 1/5" high, not very much coverage. Also it latches in the down position slightly tilted out so you really have to tilt your head down for it to hide the arc. Basically a waste of money to me.

I bought as a spare. They work great with the clear shield. Wish they had an ir3. A ir5 and ir8 are available. They hold up well. Hard to scratch.

There must be 2 different types of IR shields available. The one that came with my face shield is totally useless as it is about an inch too short to cover the area you would normally use for viewing the work piece. I called the Company that now sells the product and all they can offer is a main shield replacement with IR protection.Not recommending buying a replacement if the original will not do the job.

Perfect for oxy-acetylene and fits my face shield. Rigid and durable.
