Flexible AND works for Left or Right Hand!
I like this a lot splint a lot and I'm using it for computer keyboard work.It is a flexible splint, it gives a gentle support for the thumb. It does not constrict the rest of your fingers. This splint is not adjustable for fit so you need to order the correct size. It comes out of the box ready for use on the right hand. To use on the left hand, you must turn it inside-out, which is very easy to do. I'm using it on my left hand for my painful De Quervain's Tenosynovitis and it is helping. For sizing:I am apparently in between the Medium and the Large size for this splint. I normally wear a size small or medium in a unisex glove.I ended up buying both a Medium and a Large, to see which fit I liked best.I don't like tight fitting splints when you have to pull them on and off like a glove, because that hurts my wrist as I pull them off.The large felt perfect around my wrist, but it was a bit loose around the hand. The medium fits perfect around the hand, but it feels a bit too tight around my wrist. I am hoping that the medium size will stretch a bit around the wrist and then it will be perfect. Both sizes support my thumb. The medium is, of course, a bit sungger. The padding in both sizes seemed to be placed in an odd position for my hand, as I was expecting it to be more under my palm. The padding is sewn-in on one side of it, so you can't adjust it. Now that I'm more used to it, I see that the padding works well for when you are typing and rest the heel of your palm on the keyboard. It is comfortable.I haven't washed these yet but when I do, it says to just hand wash and air dry. Pretty simple. Conclusion: I recommend this splint for a folks who desire a lighter support with some flexibility.

Of the three thumb braces I bought
This one is the absolute winner! It is super comfortable while still providing support. The pad on the palm is surprisingly helpful in that it provides extra support as well as added comfort. I also love the compression which feels so much better than tightening around the wrist with a Velcro strap. My second favorite is 3m’s Futuro. Its string wrap is pretty ingenious and gives it wider, less bulky wrist support (but still not nearly as comfortable as the IMAK). The third thumb support I purchase is from Velpeau. I found the wrist strap bulky and uncomfortable after a while so I’d have to loosen it for relief but then it slid around a bit. The one-piece plastic support that goes up the back of the thumb is too wide for my hand. I wish I could squish it together because it really isn’t very comfortable. The supports above use two separate pieces. Well that’s my two-cents worth!

NOT FOR ME
I found this product to be too uncomfortable, actually painful, to remove. I liked the concept, but it does not work for me. my thumb joints are painful and in pulling this off the hand, the discomfort (pain) was too much to repeat. I need something that wraps the hand and can be removed without putting pressure on the joint. The MUELLER Stabilizer (62712) provides the relief from pain and causes none. The IMAK came closer to a compression glove, but was far more painful than the arthritis compression gloves that I also use. For me, the MUELLER provides comfort and relief form pain and the IMAK caused more pain.I am sorry I cannot recommend this IMAK. It may work well for non-arthritic thumbs. No problems with the order, just in the use of the product.

Good support with gentle immobilisation
Works well, good support with gentle immobilisation. I can still work with this on, but it does hold my thumb well when I'm not actively using it. Even then it's a supported use. All in all I'm very happy.Comments on the stitching are accurate, one of the support structures presses up towards the end of the thumb and wears its way through the pocket it is in. I kept pressing it back in and this eventually broke off the top cm which took enough pressure off the bottom of it to stop pressing it up. It has been stable since that piece broke. Some of the stitching around the bottom is coming undone. But for the price and the support I get I'm prepared to replace it every few months. The sizing was accurate when I carefully measured my hand before ordering. For those who need left handed support don't just turn it over, turn it INSIDE OUT.

I program like 15 hours a day 6 days a week and ...
These are life savers. I program like 15 hours a day 6 days a week and can still do this 20 years on because these are the only things I have found that alleviate wrist pain and prevent it. Actually, I had to get a Microsoft Natural Keyboard 4000 or something. I swear by these combined with those. (Even though I am a Linux guy, use Microsoft because I'm forced to at work. But credit where it's due with the keyboard). I pick up the keyboards used at Goodwill. I've been broke for many years now and haven't been able to afford them and the pain is getting much worse. But luckily I have some new income and am going to buy many more. They seem to change appearance from time to time, and they're hard to source, but this appears to be a great price. Once I get enough funds going to buy enough to last the rest of my life. They tend to fall about after a while, which is totally understandable given the abuse they sustain and they are certainly of great craftsmanship. The tricks I've learned are to put a closedpin to prevent the firm backbone thing from falling out, or, as often happens the belly filled with beans can become loose and then you secure it to keep it from flapping around. After a while, the mooring of the closepin will rip. And you will need new ones. When they are new they are firm and a bit hard to type in, especially if you've been using an old and loose pair. But they break in after while, and you get used to the different sensation. It's very important to buy one for each hand at the same time, at least for me, because using one tight and one loose one is very irritating.

Not bad..
I bought this to help my arthritic thumb joint, hoping it was as good as the one I had a couple of years ago and it's not bad. It has 2 fairly rigid supports for the thumb and some padding at the bottom of the palm (which I guess is for computer use). The fit is pretty good once on, although quite hard to pull on if your other hand is arthritic and I also found that the thumb supports were a bit long for my thumb. It's not as easy to use my hand as in my previous glove, but it does support and therefore ease the pain at the base of my thumb. It's also a shame that the padding is not removable - I unpicked the stitching and pulled it out as it really does get in the way.
