Avocet Inline Window Lock Rod 22mm Backset Mushroom Cam Upvc

Really pleased with this product and the seller. Before buying this I was a little apprehensive, would it fit, would everything line up, would it arrive in good condition, given I'd already taken the broken one out and seen how long it was and how easily it could get bent in transit. However i needn't have worried. Firstly it arrived sooner than expected and my fear of it arriving damaged were soon laid to rest. It was exceptionally packaged and took 5 minutes to fit which it did perfectly. I could even use the original mounting holes and screws. As soon as fitted it worked perfectly and represented good value for the money. Provided you take your measurements carefully I fully recommend this window replacement locking mechanism and this provider.

Length was perfect fit, but the actual mechanism was slightly bigger than the old one so had to make the gap slightly bigger and the screw holes were in a different place to mine which wasn't really a big deal, but it's in and it works perfectly

Easy fitment even for someone not practically minded. Basic tools are required and be careful with measurements but worked like a dream.

The window now has a working lock which is great, but it took me about 4 hours to fit it due to small differences in this one and our old one. I think part of the issue is that although they're still in good condition, the windows are now quite old so perhaps the other bits and pieces didn't suit the new lock too well.The mushroom caps on this are ever so slightly larger and they also don't sit flush with the main bar, so they stuck out more than the old one which meant it couldn't close. I had to adjust the seating of the window (which was a pain!) in order for it to shut.The distance that the locks move must be slightly different as well because they didn't fully into the existing lock holders. I had to grind away some of the old part to get it to engage properly. Although it's not bad at all, it's still not 100%.So all in all, it was tough work but I managed to shoehorn it in eventually - it's not perfect but it does at least now open and close smoothly. I will be ordering a couple more for two other locks that have failed, but I'm not looking forward to fitting them :)
