Bought this for my 9 yr. old son for soccer. He plays goalie and is a field player. This fit him better than the long sleeve goalie shirt. The long sleeve shirt was better padded(not by much) but restricted his motion. He said it's nice having the extra padding when he's diving on the ground vs. not wearing anything at all. Plus when he's getting elbowed in the ribs by opposing defensive players he barley feels it. We also bought the Storelli padded shorts which are fantastic for the hips and thighs.

Purchased for 2 grandsons who r both avid Soccer players. They both occasionally get hit in the chest w/ball. Goal is to keep them safer. Have not used since purchased due to Soccer season being finished this Spring of ‘19.

Yes, this is a compression shirt with built-in padding for protection on the soccer field. But it runs really small.This is a men’s size medium, and fits more like a small, and is tight under the arms.There is padding in the front center of the chest, and at the side of the ribs, wrapping around toward the back.There is a mesh panel that runs all the way to the bottom down the middle of the back.The construction is sturdy, seems are well sewn.Quality seems good, but I would order at least one size up.
