Great present and it arrived really quickly which was great because it was a birthday present and christmas present Loved it!

As a newly arrived resident of the Dunoon area and the Cowal Peninsular, I was very keen to find out more about our new home location. There are very few books available of the Cowal Peninsular - most books that I have seen on Scotland seem to forget it, despite it containing a National Park, beautiful lochs and impressive mountains. What a treasure they consequently miss out!This book answers a considerable number of the questions you might want answered though. It comes with an easy-to read script that is both informative and to the point. The script is supported with a mixture of photographs, watercolours and pen & ink illustrations which are frequently charming in their variety.Every village, there being few towns, in the area is mentioned and described briefly but precisely. Dunoon and the outlying linked communities are given more thorough coverage simply because there is more to say. Other features of the area are also included in the same way.This is an excellent reference book that may well be the only one you will ever need. As a recently retired photographer I am finding it an invaluable guide to the whole Peninsular where I hope to spend much time adding my own photographic record.This is a great little book and wonderful value at the price asked. I therefore recommend this book without reservation and am sure it is worth every one of 5 stars.
