Elmer's Day (English-Polish) (Elmer Board Books) Board book – 12 Aug. 2010

Bought the book as I remember Elmer books from my childhood. The bilingual element is what I was searching for also. The illustrations are bright and hold child's attention, the stories are very short with a small verb and description of what Elmer is doing...my 14month old does seem to like it. I have given it 3 stars as there are some translations that are slightly too literal and others that aren't even fitting. For example: "Roar. Roar" is translated as "Tu tu tuu. Tu tu tuu", one is an imitation of the sound a lion makes (Ryk in Polish) the other is of the elephant.This may seem like a harsh criticism of a basic level of linguistic education, but I was a little surprised when I read through it.As it IS a bilingual book and I am able to explain to my daughter in the future what terms are used correctly and when, I have kept it. It isn't as though it is jargon throughout.

Bought for my nephew who has a Polish daddy, it has Polish & English on each page, so everyone can read it with him & look at the pictures. Very colourful book, recommend for toddlers upwards.

Bought as a Xmas present, recipient was very pleased. Nice colourful and easy to follow layout. Lovely way to learn for little ones as each sentence is in English and Polish.

The kids like this one. As per usual, no pronunciation guide for the Bangla letters, so you have to know the alphabet and pronunciation, including some of the combination letters. Good book for helping one to learn the language after the initial alphabet is learned.

I bought this for my nephew and I know he will love it. It is not super advanced but good for toddlers.
