Stunning photography of Britain's 59 species of butterfly
This is a wonderful book. Definitely the best book that I have ever seen on butterflies. All 59 UK butterflies are depicted and there are three features associated with each one: an explanation of the origin of its name and a bit about its natural history; a poem; photographs. The poems vary a lot in style, some funny, others melancholy, but most are uplifting. There is poetry for every taste. What makes the book for me, however, are the photographs. They are beautiful and stunning and the photographer is to be congratulated for capturing the wonderful panoply of butterflies that we have in Britain.

Beautifully designed and laid out, perfect for butterfly lovers
This is a beautiful coffee table book which you can dip in and out of but also spend some time delving into in detail. The photos are gorgeous and the descriptions and poems are vivid and inspiring. I've loved learning the names of the butterflies I've seen during lockdown and getting home from a walk to look up the butterfly I just saw is so satisfying. A really lovely book I'm enjoying more and more.
