It is not silicon. When I wanna use the freezed food block, I have to wait until it melt little bit. The size and cover is ok.

These are perfect. They're really easy to fill and the frozen cubes pop out very easily.

Ideal for storing baby or other foods in the freezer. I used mine to store fresh Kale that I had blended ( add some water to Kale and liquefy in a blender). Then whenever you want to make a smoothie you have perfect size Kale cubes to add in the blender. It will work with anything really, but the fact that they have a lid eliminates spills and keeps freezer burn away. The only slight issue I had with the product is that it says not to wash them with hot water. Makes them a bit more difficult to clean. You can use up to 212F for the lid which seems hot so I was confused. The tray can withstand 158F, but I'm not sure what happens if you pass this threshold? I'm guessing they may warp if they get too hat. Give them a good wash when you get them and they are ready to go.Overall, these are a good value and have been working out well for me. I use this for making homemade frozen lemon juice cubes. It works perfectly and I love that it has a lid so my cubes never get that freezer burn taste. I don't like that it says not to wash in hot water....I find this suspicious. Does that mean its made with toxic plastic that leaches chemicals? Thats the only reason I didn't give it five stars. I received this heavily discounted in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I love that they come with a lid first of all. This is the best way to freeze my herbs from my garden with olive oil. When I need to use it I just put the frozen cube right into the pan until it melts. The trays with the lids ensures nothing gets in the couple months it is stored until I use it. These freezer trays are the best way to puree organic foods for my youngest and portion them out. I like that one of them are green and one orange because I put the herbs in the green and the baby food in the orange. They are very easy to clean out as well.

Not only the perfect size for baby food, it's great for personal size sorbe, frozen smootie cubes, ice cubes with herbs, jello, etc........the uses I've thought of could go on and on! The lids fit snugly, even after several rounds of freezing and washing. ( I was everything by hand, so I can't comment on dishwasher compatability) I also think these would be great for organizing small beads or jewelry.
