Really enjoying this group of characters!
Quick to grab my attention, Lynne Marshall's latest is superb! A sweet story of going after your dreams, but being open to change along the way. With her descriptive, authentic voice carrying you through, you will feel like you are in the scene with the characters around each turn. Great depth to the story line made for a fast-paced enjoyable read. The ending was slightly abrupt, but I have faith we will hear a little more from this couple in the next book in the Santa Barbara Sunsets series. Looking forward to it!Divorced cardiologist Jon Becker is counting down the days until his teenage daughters are both on their way into the big world of higher education. He's dreaming of his plans for a year-long sabbatical to travel the world and explore different medical cultures. He's not looking to be tied down to anything ever again.Obstetrician Rene Munro is ready to move forward with her future, regardless of if she has found the man of her dreams yet. Her true destiny is to be a mother and she's ready to make that move on her own. She knows her friend and colleague Jon has big plans for his future, but she's hoping she might be able to convince him to help make all of her dreams come true before he walks off into the sunset!

Modern woman
For every single parent that struggled with a baby. The feelings that overwhelm and the joy that overtakes cannot be duplicated. The author captured the exact emotions beautifully.

Refreshingly different
I read a lot and I've never read a book with a story line quite like this one, refreshingly different! Sweet romance with a little drama. Well written and edited. I highly recommend this one.

Another Great Read
After reading Book #1, His Second Chance at Forever, I knew I had to complete the trilogy. This book continued with characters from the medical clinic we read about in book #1. Mrs. Marshall did an excellent job developing the characters and endearing them to the reader. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast moving, light romance. Be sure to read books #1 and 3!

What It Takes to Have It All!!
This is the second book I’ve read by this author and is Book 2 in the Santa Barbara Sunset Series. I have read both books in this series. It is a stand-alone book, without a cliff hanger ending and written in third person. Recurring characters are seamlessly woven into the story, and while background in the first book is good to have, it isn’t required to enjoy this second book.Rene Munro is the epitome of a contemporary woman and represents those who have chosen a career path, instead of a family path. She’s worked hard to get where she is but had to sacrifice her personal life along the way to compete in her medical field. Now, she hears her proverbial biological clock ticking away her dream of becoming a mother. She isn’t in a relationship and decides to avail herself of a modern medicine way to conceive a baby. She thinks she’s picked the perfect sperm donor, a colleague she respects and understands.Jon Becker thought he had it all—a good career, loving family, stable life. Suddenly, he’s a divorced father of two teenage daughters, and now, two years later, he is still smarting from the break-up of his marriage and needs a break from work, too. He’s looking forward to his year-long sabbatical as his chance to reevaluate his life and reinvigorate his passion for medicine. He is not interested in a relationship with another woman. The scientist in him accepts the “sperm donor only” contractual agreement from Rene and proceeds with his no involvement role.Neither Rene nor Jon are prepared for how her pregnancy can, and will, change their carefully penned contract. They both struggle as their view of the other changes, slamming into them, without warning. How they battle their feelings and realizations is both heartfelt and tender. But, how can they reconcile their changes and how do they fit into their carefully constructed contract?I was rooting for this couple to succeed because I liked each of them and delighted in watching them evolve into strong, capable individuals separately and as a couple. There are the typical stumbling blocks and miscommunications inherent in every romance novel, but the resolution of these was a bit abrupt. It’s hard to believe that a jog will suddenly clarify life decisions! Overall, it was an enjoyable read. This is a clean, virtually profanity-free, absent steamy sex scenes novel and is appropriate for most readers. I received a free copy of this book from eBook Discovery and voluntarily submit my honest review.
