Something Rotten!: Vocal Selections

First I want to say I love this musical and the music it contains is some of my favorites off Broadway in recent years. That said the three stars are for this product not the musical.I had planned to use the beginning of the song "Omelette" in an audition but the problem is that the song is incomplete in this book. It is lacking the beginning of the song before the tempo/key change. Example Portion of Missing Part: "The fruit of life can't always taste like sweet persimmonsSometimes it's hard to swallow I'm afraid"...etc) Unfortunately this was key to my plans and considering the lack of music I am unable to use it and must change course. If I had known I would not have ordered. I will have to review the rest of the songs contained in the future to see if they are complete or not.So if you want portions of the songs and not necessarily the whole things then by all means get this. Otherwise temper your expectations and prepare to adapt. Still great music even if partial.

Everything about the transaction was perfect. Thank you to the vendor. This was a gift for my wife and I have not had the opportunity to hear the recording but I know she has enjoyed it very much.

I love it. You always wonder when you do buy these kinds of things how good they will be. This book has all the selections and much of the internal dialogue and music within the numbers is also included. I'm very pleased. A great companion to the cast album.

This show is going to be a big hit.Glad I got a chance to get the sheet music ahead of the curve.If you haven't heard the soundtrack you should. Funny show.

Very challenging - the good news.... you get to use all the black keys! Loved this show, and now we can enjoy performing our favorite selections at home!

One of the funniest musicals I have ever seen. The songs are fun and memorable and this book provides a great way to enjoy them over and over again.

Often show music is hollow if you haven't seen the show. Not so with Something Rotten. Great, fun music performed wonderfully by the original cast.

Vocal selection bought as a learning aid for MP3 already purchased. Concert in April to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Bards death!!

Das Notenbuch enthält alle Lieder, die man gerne immer wieder spielen / singen / hören will. Bis auf "Let me be your right hand man" (5 b!)sind auch alle gut spielbar.

The keys the songs are in are VERY difficult as well as the piano voicings. However, having all the lyrics is a plus! I wish there was a simpler version. It's so hard to be the bard!

Obviously this is not a full score (would love one of those) but it has an excellent selection. Originally bought as a surprise present for my mum who plays the piano, having previously brought this show to her attention through the cd. She loved the show so much she decided to surprise me by purchasing a copy. So now we both have a copy. A great show. Would love to see it live, but since we live in the far north of Scotland we'll have to wait for the amateur performance rights - which is also fine by me.
