The Sundae Scoop (MathStart 2) Paperback – Picture Book, December 24, 2002

This is a great book for exploring the concepts of combinations. I love that the books in this series weave important math ideas into an interesting story. The tips at the end of the book are also provide wonderful follow up ideas.

This was my daughter's favorite book around the age of four or so. I don't know that she learned any math from it, but we read it together happily many times, and it at least gave me the illusion that I was teaching her something more substantive than her other favorite "Barbie: On Your Toes."

Fun book to read. The kids love it and I like that they are thinking through the words and grasping concepts while doing something other than "math". :)

Visually helped see different combos. I usually think of a punnet square to express that sort of data, but kids do not understand it yet so showing it in a flow chart will be more effective.

Great books. Glad I purchased.

I think you can't go wrong with any of the Math Start books. It puts math in real life perspective. My kids love them.
