So torn...but so happy we purchased these!
Based on all of the mixed reviews for these, as well as the cost, I was super torn as to whether or not to purchase these. My son is 7 1/2 years old and has mild cerebral palsy. His right side is more affected than his left and he has trouble keeping his right foot on his bike pedal while also trying to pedal and steer the bike. With the help of his therapist, we built a simple pedal adapter that velcros his foot onto a fitted shoe cover on the right pedal. Unfortunately this is very unsafe because if he crashes his bike to that side, he can't put his foot down to catch himself. We always walk next to him while he rides but he's getting bigger and bigger and a month ago, even with my husband alongside him, he crashed over with his regular training wheels. We bought these stabilizer wheels as a last ditch effort to keep him safe without getting a tricycle or an actual adaptive bike. We love them! He is so much more stable and balanced. As he rides, one wheel does come off the ground, depending on which way the bike is leaning but that's how regular training wheels are as well; these are just training wheels on steroids. The instructions were an absolute bear....ridiculous the Company doesn't fix them. But the product itself fits the bill perfectly. I would buy them 100 times over to give my son this kind of safety on a bike.

Small wheels and lite weight !for a fat guy with no sense of balence !
Bought this size due to the fact the wheels came closer to the Baha Mini Bike it is going on for use in the desert for use when I train my hunting dogs in the desert close to Phoenix Az .This bike 4 year ago damn near killed me when a rock and the front wheel caused it to cartwheel over me resulting in a concushion , 4 broken ribs and a fractured skull as I was not wearing a brain bucket ,so I was laid up and not able to train dogs for 1 year . Well call me crazy and I guess I am or I would not be riding it again due to balance issues from the last time but I have a new young pup 1 1/2 years old being trained as my personal hunting dog ,but my knees are not getting any younger ,and after making a set of these myself and running into fitting problems ,I decided to turn to this ,but it is going to take putting a piece of high tensal 1/4 inch plate mounted to the frame as this Baha does not have a diamond frame like a Bmx bike does ,so It is a matter of mounting the plate on each side of the bike frame and getting the the training wheels a half inch off the ground as per the instructions . Only did one side as I was working in the heat and had to quit due to dehydration at 95f outside . So I will continue this review once I get the other side mounted lowered ,and the test ride it is complete ,and I don't kill myself more to follow . It got here in less than 2 day as as per usual with Amazon Prime ! Its now a work in progress and a return in progess if it does not work !Well as of 4/30 looks like I have a winner ,as I was able to engineer this to the Baja with out drilling any holes in mounting plate ,and I used 2 braced shelf brackets to keep the wheels from twisting away from the lower bar of the frame and going cock -eyed .I looks a little strange ,but with my 250 lbs on this bike ,the last thing I need is to have these fail and cause me to wreck the bike again . Took it for a spin around the block ,the wheels did what they were supposed to ,but once again the chain jumped the sprocket and I will have a pro fix that ,so once that is done it is off to the Pheasent farm and see if I can keep up with my pointer puppy !

Great, high quality product.
These things are great. They are a bit challenging to put on because they need to be adaptive to all kinds of bikes. My daughter is 16 with Down syndrome and autism. She struggles with a traditional 2 wheeler but she does great with these. And I have bad knees so I cannot run to keep up with her. I feel much more comfortable with her using these than the cheap training wheels that we got from the local store. Also, these seem to be lifetime wheels as opposed to the cheap trainers that are normally available. Just know in advance, installation may be a bear, so plan in advance to invest the proper amount of time to install them right. Happy riding!

Do not fit a 20 inch bike !! Don't buy !!
Terrible. Don't buy or waste your money! These DO NOT FIT a 20 INCH BIKE !! Ww bought these for my autistic son who has serous balance issues. The package says it fits a 20 inch bike and it does not at all - the stabilization wheels don't even tough the ground! The kit will have to be returned at major inconvenience to us! The whole thing left my son hopeful, and then in tears. The instructions are horrible!

Great for my Daughter with balance issues
I purchased this set for my 9 year old Autistic daughter. She has balance issues due to her Sensory Processing Disorder. We tried to learn to ride through various methods, but she had almost lost her confidence. These stabilizers changed all that. Today she rode around the neighborhood and laughed. She was still nervous at first, but quickly gained her confidence.I have only a few complaints. One is that she had to reposition her foot on the pedals, because her heel kept touching the stabilizer bar. This was a concern with the guys at the local bike shop put them in for me. However, we put on a different shoe and it seemed to have helped. Her foot will continue to grow, so I don't know how hat will affect her in the future. The second is the price. I purchased this set for $149. I see that Amazon has since raised the price to $179. Walmart has them listed for $150 or so. Either way, there is likely about $65 in material. This tends to happen with products labeled "special needs" and that is disappointing. Third, had to remove the chain guard to accommodate these stabilizers. Finally, this set will only work for the 20" bike. Once she outgrows this set, I will be left to dish out another $160 for an adult sized bike. My husband is a welder, so he may be making our next set.

Solid Construction
The Wheel Kit is solidly constructed and is fairly easy to install. Although it is somewhat expensive, it is definitely made of superior materials. I bought this for my grandson who is himself "solidly constructed," and the Stabilizer worked very well in keeping him going. I would recommend it highly.
