Two thumbs up!
As of this writing, I've had the Phoenix concertina for four days, and I've been playing it every day. It has easily exceeded my expectations. I've only been playing for about a year, and I clearly have quite a way to go before I can take advantage of everything this instrument has to offer. The tone is full and resonant. The action is even across the buttons, and the buttons provide enough resistance so that I feel as though I am actively playing. They don't just flop around. What you do is what you get. I'm actually getting musical results that reflect what I'm doing. (For better or worse!) The concertina feels relatively light and is comfortable to hold.I have only one warning to anyone considering buying this instrument. The description clearly states that it has a Jeffries button layout. It does not! It has a Wheatstone layout. This worked out OK for me since I'm playing in the Gary Coover harmonic style, but if you want a Jeffries layout for playing Irish music you might be pretty pissed off.

Beautiful insturment
This concertina is not cheap but it is beautifully crafted and has a wonderful tone. Worth paying more for such an instrument. It's a pleasure to play.
