Highly suggest
I highly suggest this book. It is a book you can refer to all the time. It is filled with pearls of wisdom for anyone wanting to get into Commercials. I found the details in this book to be so helpful for my own commercial journey. I am starting to apply what was discussed in the book and I feel confident in my future. I know who's who, the process and the behind the scenes, so my fear of the industry is diminished. I am sure I will have some butterflies when I audition for a commercial, but I will feel confidence with all the useful information in this book I have obtained. My 2 young sons are also actors, and I know much more than I did before I read the chapter on,"Kids In The Business". Thank you to these wonderful authors for the years in the business and all the knowledge they have passed on. I am looking forward booking a national commercial and I will owe all the credit to this book and its authors. Thank you in advance.

Must read if you wanna get into commercials!
I took Terry's class and learned tons then bought the book and this is helpful for reminders as well as understanding your "TYPE" of character you would be best at. They go through everything you need to know from headshots to the whole process of the business of commercials. I highly recommend you read this book if you're wanting to become a working commercial actor.

The Artistic Integrity of Capitalism?
I think it's funny that these people use the words "commercials" and "acting" in the same breath. Ya, the acting community is real proud of your performance in the Hershey's chocolate-bar commercial. Grow a brain!

really informative
i thought this book was great but i wish it had a section on not blinking, the how-tos. I'm taking a TV Commercial class and was told i blink a lot. If anyone has any advice or can point me in the right direction, i would appreciate it.

Wowed!!
I'm a "newbie" to the voice over industry and a friend of Terry's recommended this book to me. I have to say I was wowed, and overwhelmed but totally inspired to continue in the voice over industry. This book is a great "how-to" for actors everywhere. Enjoy!!

Nothing Better On Paper
There is TRUTH in advertising when it comes to this book. Just as the title states "breaking in.." one can expect to find a great compendium of information on ALL aspects of acting on and off camera in commercials.Terry brings a special panache to the story --- her Madison Ave. experience. Few if any casting directors on either coast can compare to her resume. If you're starting out or looking to jump start your career again in the biz, buy this book. Oh, and don't expect just to read it cover to cover. Expect to have it readily available within arms reach for constant reference and you chase your dream in the world of spots.
