I much prefer these stacking disc type of filters over disposable cartridges as they are so easy to clean. Just break them apart and spray them clean in about 60 seconds. Also you will never waste money on a cartridge again. Nothing to landfill. The downside is that they don't hold as much dirt as the wound type so you will end up changing them every day or two if you have a pond with a high dirt load.As for this particular brand of stacking disc filter, I cannot find any flaws - it does what it should and construction is very durable. The cup unscrews very easily. These are also about half the price of the Netafim or other high-profile brands so thats a plus.

Works well. Running as a filter for my drip irrigation out of a lake. 200 feet of 1/2 inch drip tube. Keeps up with no problem.
