Good value racquet with nice quality rubbers. Control and spin is high but speed a little slow for my preference. Also noted that whilst it doesn’t feel light-weight, the sound produced at each stroke is quite high-pitched, similar to the sound you’d expect from balsa wood. Still a very decent racquet for the price and a good back-up for an amateur player. Personally, I prefer the Palio 3.0 to this. A case would have been a nice addition but I guess for the price you can’t have everything.

Makes an annoying sound

Decent table tennis bat. This Sure Shot Matthew Syed MS-5000 is one of a range of bats, each designed to suit a players particular style or skill or requirement (power, spin, control, etc). The MS 500 is aimed at those who want employ a high level spin. It has a taipai rubber surface which in theory will grip the ball a little longer on contact so increasing the effect of any applied spin. Does it work...who knows ...so much is down to the skill of the player and I'm in no position pass comment on that . What I can say is that the bat give a good level of springy contact, but not soft and spongy. I found the grip a little thin for my taste so add a few wraps of tape to thicken it up. But overall its a rather decent bat for the money.

Reasonable quality bat, suitable for beginners. Good value for money. Comfortable to play with. Has lasted a long time with only minor scuffs.

We have previously reviewed the MS 3000 model and we were impressed with the quality of make for money and the same is the case here.Well made with well chosen materials and it's comfortable to hold and wears well.We are in no way specialists, but it's great to play with and we've enjoyed using the flex-net from the same brand
