Suprisingly Fun!
This is probably the best robot you can buy in the $10 range. It's not a robot in the true sense, because it has no problem-solving skills, but it has an ingenious way of mimicking artificial intelligence -- whenever it runs into something, it turns around and goes a different direction. I still haven't figured out how this little guy works internally, but there's a motor spinning around inside the ball that's hidden underneath the casing that you see in the picture. It's very entertaining watching him scoot around on the kitchen floor, bumping into cabinets and trying out a new path. My family even agrees that this toy is more entertaining than some of the more expensive and real robots that I've purchased. Definitely worth the money!

Fun Robot to work on together
My 7 year old son and I put this together. For what it costs I feel it is a decent value. We really enjoyed putting it together. Once it's put together it's not very interesting to be honest so the value lies in building it. The tin can robot is more fun to play with. I would recommend it if your child wants to learn about how electronics work and if they like to build things. Maybe if we decorated the cover to give it some "personality" it would be cooler.

Easy to assemble - it took me and my daughter ...
Simple design. Easy to assemble - it took me and my daughter about 5 minutes.DC motor casing, battery holder cap and weight fixture are of poor quality. I definitely would not pay more than 10 bucks for this device. It is fun to watch it crawls from obstacle to obstacle though.

Great for 8-12 year old kids
I build these in our robotics summer camps and they work great as long as you install the motor completely to the bottom so that it does not interfere with the top once it is installed. Otherwise it will not rotate properly. Make sure you push the motor all the way in.We set up a obstacle course for our kids to have a robot war/course to run through. First robot to the other side wins!

Fun robot for the price!
I read a lot of reviews that said they did not like this robot and it was a waste of money. I disagree!! It took about 20 minutes to put together and is so much fun! Definitely worth the money!

Don't bother
Despite the decent reviews, this was a disappointment. It barely moves. We adapted it for a shuffle-board like game played on a checkerboard tablecloth because: 1) it moves best on a tablecloth on a table (doesn't go on a slick hardwood floor or even berber carpeting) and 2) when you push it on a tablecloth, it goes and when it stops it the "flops" "robotically" in a couple of unexpected directions.Although it's inexpensive, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
