Sauder Beginnings Tall Bookcase 5 Shelves, Adjustable Display Bookcase - Summer Oak Finish

I’ve had this bookshelf for about a month and I came home from work today to find it had completely collapsed. The bookshelf was always pretty flimsy as the material is very cheap but collapsing out of nowhere is a lot even for a really cheap bookshelf. Definitely not safe, especially if you have pets or children who may accidentally knock it over.

Do not buy this cheap piece of junk. It's basically pressed particle board and after less than 5 months of holding my books it fell apart while I was at work. I'm glad my kids weren't anywhere near it at the time. It's heavy but not heavy duty. I attached it to the wall but that even that wouldn't hold it up. Save yourself the headache of putting it together and having to carry it to the dumpster later. So disappointed.

These book cases are NOT meant to be top of the line so it is ridiculous to write a review from that point of view. Here are my pros and cons:Pros: Came packaged very well. All parts were included (which is a big thing when ordering cheap products.) Pieces fit well. Easy to assemble. Instructions laid out very well. Does what it is meant to do at a low cost.Cons: Backing is thin cardboard that tears easily. Has space for at least two more shelves but not provided.Overall this is completely fine to use unless you are a stickler with name brands or high quality. I actually buy these cases to use for my dvds. I am an avid movie watcher and collector. This purchase makes the fifth book case in this size which tells you how many movies I own Lol.

I bought this to hold books in a room that is basically a storage room that no one sees. It is serviceable, it was easy to put together. And it is cheap. On the negative, it is the cheapest appearing pressed wood covered with fake wood grain. Since it won't be seen by guests or anyone, that is fine, but if you want a nice looking bookcase and want real wood, this is not it.My only real objection is that they only supply you with three adjustable shelves, in addition to a fixed shelf, and this bookcase is easily tall enough to hold another shelf. Since I'm using it to store books, there is a big wasted space a the top that I could have used to store more books. Anyone wanting a bookcase for tall books or tall nick-nacks could simply not use the extra shelf.All in all, it is fine and does the job, and it is sturdy for being so inexpensive.

I like them. They are okay but they are a bit on the flimsy side. Didn't realize that the side panels were two pieces that you connect together. Would have preferred 1 solid piece for each side. Also, instructions can be a little confusing at first. And There really were not any predrilled starter holes for when you were screwing in the pieces. It was a bit of a chore to make sure everything matched up and was even.However, you get what you pay for and as I have a Prime account I cannot complain too much. they were delivered within a few days and I wasn't forced to lug them from the store to my car then from my car to my house.Overall they suit the purpose they were bought for. Generic bookcases to sit in a room and hold items. They aren't in any of the main rooms of the house so I'm happy with them. If I get 4 or 5 years worth of use out of them then I got my money's worth.

The product appears to be engineered for shipping, cutting the side panel in half so that you must put 2 same size "boxes" together (hard to match), with two separate backs, and then the positioning of "fixed shelf" is right smack dab in the middle, so the top half fits two more shelves in but the bottom half only has one insertable shelf. My same sized 5 shelf book cases that I bought before has the fixed shelf in a better place so that I could have all 5 shelves evenly spaced, instead of one shelf space in this bookcase being too large to use for much. And the construction had screw "nails" to put most of it together and it was also hard to line them up correctly. An engineering disaster in my opinion. I guess I'll have to call and buy another shelf so that I don't have so much wasted space. And, boy, was it hard to put together, taking by far the most time I've ever had to take in putting bookshelves together!

The instructions said that enough of the parts would be labeled that there would be no ambiguity during assembly. That wasn't the case. Being a bookcase, there were several parts that looked the same. Those parts, which were different in theory, weren't labeled. I definitely feel like some stickers weren't placed on a few of the parts.Several of the pieces arrived with scuffed, scratched, or otherwise damaged corners and surfaces.But so far it hasn't fallen apart.

Reçue ce matin et retournée en PM. L'armoire est croche et la partie du haut est plus large d'un seul côté seulement. Les tablettes sont trop larges pour la partie du bas... Bref perte de temps pour la montée et la redéfaire...Remboursement demandé.... Très déçue de cet achat.
