First thing is that although this has a small grill space so children most likely would not get their finger into, I would still put this in a plug that is beyond your children's reach if possible. They could still use thing objects to reach inside which could be dangerous as well Also do NOT plug this into a surge protector, only plug it directly into the wall. A surge protector could cause issues if using this as well as issues to other plugs near it with the zapper on. Also make sure you leave it in the open and not behind anything. Other than that, this is pretty effective in killing most bugs. I have this in my garage and it is pretty effective. You still hear the zap to know it is working and it does not shock you if you reach to unplug it. The hum is pretty low so you do not have to worry about it being annoying. It has a thing brush you can use to brush it clean when needed. Do not use any kind of liquid to clean as it may short or damage the device. You can simply plug this into any standard wall plug and it will work just fine. The next thing is that the zapper is made of plastic on the outside to keep you from getting shocked. It also does not get super hot or anything. Short of the bigger bugs this does a good job in getting rid of those smaller annoy bugs like mosquitos. If you have a ton you will hear zapping all day. I recommend cleaning it every three days or so to prevent it from getting stuck to the inside. The light is pretty bright so be aware of that before putting it in a room. Also keep it away from any curtains or cloth material. The yellow and white makes it really noticeable during the day. The white color at the bottom is where most of the components are housed as well as where it gets warm. Nothing dangerous to the touch but keep cloth and curtains away from it.. Overall this is a pretty good small zapper. It is extremely portable and works great for whatever small bug problem you have. Be aware if the bug is too big it'll most likely just cling to this.

First of all, THIS IS SMALL. Ok. I thought this was complete garbage lol. We have a tiny fly issue due to the amount of veggies I grow in our bay window, and I figured If it works for mosquitos, maybe fruit flies and gnats too? Lord knows they love the light from my phone screen. I plugged it in for a few days and didn’t notice any dead... splashed water at it (I know, I’m a genius), and even tried to get a spark by touching it with damp plants, but there was no sizzle like I was expecting. I actually went to pull it down to return it and WOW when I unplugged and the light wasn’t blinding me, it was FULL of tiny dead flies. I shook most out before I thought to take a picture. I plugged it back in, and the next day I have a full size flu dead in front of it. Don’t know how it works, but it works 🤷🏻‍♀️

My apartment was infested with fruit flys and i gave up on the insecticides because non worked, no matter what the flies would double next day and it just soo frustrating 😡. So a friend recommended this product to me and now my apartment is finally pest free. Id recommend it to people with fruit flies infestations.

its pretty cheaply made, it will attract very few bugs with its blue lights but I had a fungus gnats infestation and had tons of gnats flying around a plant. I moved the plant right in front of the light and it only attracted and killed about 20 bugs, not enough to make a difference. dont think this will suffice to use in a large area room. and when i went to clean it. the instructions say that you touch a screw driver to the metal plates to release the bugs with static electricity but when i did not only did nothing happen but i got a shock

I was about to give this one star and a bad review when I started reading others comments. One person said when I unplugged it and wasn't blinded by the lights it was full of flies. I thought perfect prove me wrong. So I turn the little bugger off. And there across the grid are 7 fruit flies all dried out. Son of a gun it works. Maybe I need more because we are still fighting them, but it got 7 more than I did.I wish they had a manual with products on here. Argh! It is far from intuitive how you open it. So I included two photos. The yellow cover comes off for cleaning. UNPLUG IT FIRST! You slide a fingernail between the yellow and white plastic at the sides and work it off. It takes pretty good effort. Then you can brush it clean. Hopefully now that I know it's working and figured out how to clean it I will have better results.And a month later better results I have. Now that I have two of these little buggers my catch is up dramatically. I am pretty sure I had a few dozen between the two of them. We still have fruit flies but they are occasional. Now I leave the cover up a little so it's easier to pry off.

I bought it because my 5mo daughter keeps getting bit by mosquitoes when we are out on our patio! I thought it wasn't going to work but it turns out to be perfect. You do have to be sitting in close proximity to it. I like that it's very easy to clean and it does attract insects. Btw it attracts more than just mosquitoes so it needs to be cleaned if you have a lot of insects around.

i purchased this to keep in my small patio area, it is covered. So far there haven't had many bugs but I definitely noticed several small mosquitos and small bugs getting caught in this were killed and repelled. I haven't used it for more than a week yet but I would say it is definitely a decent product. So far have liked it but with time would know how it is performing. It is small in size and color is white so look wise it is as a simple a small night lamp. Will update my review over the time but it has been doing the business it is supposed to do.

Realmente esperaba mucho más, no me gustan los insecticidas y por descuido llegue a tener muchos moscos de fruta, además de que una de mis pequeñas muy seguido le pican insectos, tengo 3 hijos y solo a una de ellas le pican más. Por esa razón decidí comprar el producto.•Primero el precio es alto, lo adquirí por $915 pesos en ese entonces tenía 4.5 de 5 estrellas.•El material es muy frágil.• El mío se cae, no logra colocarse bien en la toma de corriente.• Tengo muchos mosquitos de fruta y hace como un mes no ha caído ni uno.• Únicamente han caído dos mosquitos diminutos que no son de fruta. Por esta razón le doy 3 estrellas y no menos. Uno por el aparato y dos por los mosquitos diminutos.Lo único bueno del producto son los dos mosquitos que han caído en UN MESEsto espero que solo a mi y que a alguien más le valla mucho mejor.
