These are very easy to use and the culture does what it's supposed to.

Works as described

I was making cream cheese with this product. The outer packaging was in perfect condition on arrival and the sachets contained within were also perfect. The recipe specified using 1/2 a sachet of culture and so I opened the package and tipped the contents out into a small bowl. I was shocked and startled that a live insect came out of the package along with the culture. The insect was a silverfish which I understand are fairly harmless but I cannot say that I have ever experienced finding a live insect in a manufactured product. Particularly ironic, I thought, as they are a NZ company and I’m sure we have all seen the border patrol programmes preaching about bio security.I contacted Mad Millie to advise them of my experience. The responded to my emails initially but they eventually went quiet without providing any specific comments. This experience has rather put me off this brand. I’m sure that pest control in food factories is a constant battle but, after an experience like this, I won’t be buying anything else from them.
