ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 7

I purchased these shoes in late February and started using them in March. I have used them to walk to and from work, while working, which involves a lot of walking and standing, and to go on a couple jogs. In five months time, after logging, roughly 1000+ miles, the treads have worn down, yet the shoes have held firm. I did add some insoles a while back, I just trimmed them to size and put them on top of the factory insoles which are apparently affixed in such a way as to not be removed. At least easily. These shoes have served me very well and have been comfortable. Mostly they have be used on road and sidewalk surfaces and hard cement flooring at work.After 5 months and logging roughly 1000+ miles I have decided to get another pair of aSICS. Only I got a half size bigger. The only real issue I had with the old shoes is some restriction at the top arch of the foot, basically where the shoelace is tied. Yet that may have been on me for getting a size too short. I haven't had blisters or any other issues. In fact, I had a bout of Achilles Tendonitis prior to wearing these shoes. I was wearing boots at the time. Fortunately it passed and have luckily had no more problems with that while wearing these shoes.I like that these shoes are available in wide sizes. Overall these shoes are breathable and and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend for anyone who is on their feet and does a lot of walking. Just make sure you know your true shoe size, and if you're like me, you should be good to go right out of the box.

I have owned a variety of Gel ASICS shoes including several Trail shoes, and liked them all. I saw a pair of the Gel Venture 6 at the store a couple years ago and waffled a little about the waffle sole. It looked as though it might allow unwanted lateral slippage. I also wondered how long the narrow waffles would hold up. I went ahead anyway and bought a pair, as they did feel very comfortable. It turns out that they are the most comfortable Gel ASICS shoes I had ever worn. I have had issues w foot pain for years, and yet continue to play golf and walk 6-7 miles per round. Also play tennis several times a week. Hike w the local hiking club 5-10 miles a trip. I found that the Gel Venture 6 did not slide around, nor wear out overly quickly. Although the sole is particularly soft and perhaps a little thicker than some ASICS, it is not overly so. In other words, the shoes do not feel unstable. I am able to play pretty vigorous tennis on indoor courts and the shoes are not a problem. Specifically, I don’t feel as though I can turn my ankles. The soles do wear out in a couple months if used regularly for tennis 3 times a week. BTW, I wear New Balance inserts and remove the factory ASICS inserts on all my shoes, which may affect my experience with these shoes. In any case, I had come to the conclusion that at least for me the ASICS Gel Venture 6 were the perfect all-around shoe. Then comes along the Gel Venture 7. I am always a little bit suspicious as to why shoe companies are always coming up with new models. There are probably good and bad reasons. To sell more shoes probably. Anyway I took the bait and bought a pair of the possibly improved Gel Venture 7. They appear almost identical to the 6’s, which is a good thing. So far I can’t tell that they are any better, but also not worse. So would I recommend one over the other? No, not now. So instead, I suggest getting whichever is less expensive. What may unfortunately happen is the 6’s will be discontinued. So perhaps one strategy is to get a couple of them while still available, if they do well for you. Take home message, is that you too really ought to give these a try. 6 or 7’s. Can perhaps decide based on looks. Between the two models, you have a lot of choices. You too may find that these will become your Fave Gel ASICS. And maybe add New Balance inserts for a truly great ride.

So I ordered the black on black, shoe and that's the box I received. Received. However, inside the box I received a black shoe with neon green highlights. I actually cannot find the shoe on the Amazon store I purchased from. Haha. And I decided to just keep them as the neon green is more of a subtle accent then in over-the-top color edition.I've had this type of shoe before and it's very comfortable and does last a good long time. These shoes will last me well over a year of everyday wear before I start having them start to fray or have the padding get completely worn, and I'm a very heavy guy. They fit as expected and have good venting so my feet do not overheat. I use these mostly for day-to-day use, but have definitely used a second pair for working out.

I've been an Asics fan for many years. This purchase is my second for the Gel-Venture 7. I initially made my purchases based on reviews. I was so pleased with the Gel 7 that I didn't want to change to other versions that Asics came out with. They are so supportive, and comfortable. I highly recommend.

I knew as soon as I put them on and the word WOW slipped out of my mouth that these shoes were going to be GREAT! I don't know what motives are behind all of the negative reviews but don't believe them. I have been wearing these shoes for about two weeks now and I'm loving them.Pros:1. Fits perfect2. Feels great, no pressure points, feet not tired at end of day.3. Budget friendly price for a great shoe. (better than some higher priced shoes)4. Looks greatCons:1. I would like to see the shoe laces be a bit larger. BUT this is not a deal breaker. Can get new shoe laces cheap if I ever need them.2. I had to come up with at least one CON....that's all I can think of.3. Oh...be careful on wet floors, lol...they are slippery. I wear Sketchers slip resistant for work but these are for home and walking etc.I honestly don't think an individual that wears these for normal activities etc will have a problem with them. In fact, I think you will love how they look and feel.

Comfortable right out of the box, great colours available in a Wide!Since Saucony evidently feels that people with wide feet should only wear black, grey or white, I have dumped Saucony. Glad I did, because these are great! Granted my actual running shoes are Saucony from when they made wides in colours, but the Asics look great and are my out-and-about shoes now. I may see how they do for some running too!

Having wide feet has meant taking half a size larger to accommodate the width but this leaves the toes short from the front of the show.Seeing the ASICS option for X-Wide, decided to try a true to length pair.These shows fitted my 10.5 foot length perfectly and the width was similarly perfect.While trying them on, never felt a shoe fit so perfectly that they did not need walking in - best purchase of shoe ever made! :-)
