120 BCD cranksets were introduced with SRAM 2x10 drivetrains and are excellent candidates for a 1x conversion with our patented Drop-Stop chainrings. These rings will allow you to convert your 120 BCD crankset, like the SRAM XX and others, to a 1x drivetrain. Fits 120 BCD cranksets or 4-bolt spiders Drop-Stop technology. On a Wolf Tooths patented wide/narrow chainring, the wide side of the tooth has maximum contact on the drive side which spreads the load and improves chainring life. The narrow side allows clearance for mud and debris which reduces friction. Alternating wide/narrow tooth pattern decreases chain derailment Compatibility These rings fit any 120 BCD crankset or 4-bolt spider. For SRAM cranksets you must use the stock M10x.75 bolts with a shoulder on them. These are not standard bolts and Wolf Tooth's bolts will not work with this chainring. Note that only about 3 threads will engage (same with the stock SRAM rings) SRAM is the only supplier of the M10 x .75 bolts 36t is the smallest number of teeth that fits on a 120 BCD If using a 9-speed drivetrain use a 10-speed chain (shifts and works well on a 9-speed drivetrain and fits the ring tighter for better chain retention). Chainline - 51mm for 36t and 52mm for 38t (38t is wider for more chainstay clearance) Recommendations Before you buy a 120 BCD ring, check to see if your cranksets has a removable spider and compatible with our direct mount rings. If you plan to ride in very muddy conditions, we recommend a chainguide or chainkeeper along with a clutch style rear derailleur for the best chain security. Without these precautions, you may experience chain drops and/or chainsuck.

Worked a miracle!
My old 2006 Kona Kikapu was in need of an upgrade (I’m 76 and needed a change as well)! My bike pro & great mechanic was trying to find parts to convert my original 3x8 to a 1x11…but the old bottom bracket, cranks, etc was not being very cooperative. He finally said for me to try and find a Wolf 120 BCD Chainrings (36t, Drop-Stop A)…I found it here and had it in 2 days! Darrin (my pro) said he’d found an older carbon BB and a set of XX - TruVativ GXP carbon cranks, a new chain that was going to transform my bike! I add a PNW 27.2 Pine Dropper Post (110mm) that works like a charm; a new set of Catalyst EVO-“XL” flat pedals (that James Wilson designed for my size 13 feet!)….(which I highly recommend if you want to immediately increase power to the pedals and save your ankles & knees and let your big leg muscles work!)…the Wolf 36T chainring had my concerns at first, but it was a game changer on the new setup! I’ve never enjoyed shifting like I do now! If you have an older bike and thinking about attempting a similar project to keep from retiring an old frame, you should definitely give this Wolf a consideration! You won’t regret it!

Looks great in black with the XX crank
Wish I knew this existed before building a brand new 1x12 hardtail. Replaced a 2010 Sram XX 39T ring that was well worn. Had removed the small ring attempting a 1x10 with 11-36. Of course the chain never stayed on. Replacing with this Wolf Tooth 36, haven't had a problem since and gained slightly more range from the 39. Incredibly durable looking part very well machined. Looks great in black with the XX crank. Immediate ship with 3rd party seller arrived next day instead of 2-day Prime. Definitely will buy Wolf Tooth again when needed.

Awesome Chainring
I was looking a 36 chainring the will fit my 120 BCD crankset, the search was kind of difficult because there is no many options. At last I found this Wolf Tooth Components and I'm very happy with it, the selection couldn't be a better one. Great construction, nice details, fits like a glove my crankset. Very pleased with it.

No Dropped Chains!
Yes...it works perfectly on pictured crank arm (SRAM XX 4 bolt 120 BCD). Lost a little top end but gained a better low end. I thought it would look a little boring but it's better than expected!

No more chain drops
Great product. Put it on my carbon 29r hardtail and no chain drop yet. I didnt even have to replace my derailer to a clutch one as recommended. Its effective and light, everything an avid mnt biker likes to have on his bike.

Love this chainring
Love this chainring. was able to drop a pound overall with the install of this. Muddy conditions do make it a little challenging to keep the chain on, but no complaints!
