the sonik rod is great i have several sonik rods and i think they are real value for moneythis is the 1st sonik reel i have come across , its not greati have to say though that the seller was happy to take it back with no quibbles so this seller i highly recommendthe handle on the reel is not the best it comes lose and cdo with being a bit longersonik are marketing it as a spod reel , it is a big reel it does have a big spool and a reasonable gear ratiothe handle really lets it downi was going to return it due to this issue but in the end found another handle from an old reel that fitted and i plan on giving it a go when Boris allows us back outreally fast delivery brilliant coms from seller highly recommend them

Rod and reel are pretty good, the line is like cotton, absolutely terrible, needs to be replaced.

Well made , does exactly what it says on the time so to speak. Fast action, good solid reel seat, and the reel is spot on for spodding. Retrieved quickly. Not used as marker rod but definitely impressed with the look and feel of this rods and reel. Well done sonic. An affordable but up there with the likes of Diawa infinity performance wise, only grumble is there’s no extended handle past the real seat for a bit of comfort on top 2 fingers when retrieving spod

Rod great, reel great, line 30lb more like 10lb

Only used it once great bit of kit.

On a 4 day session I put out around 100 large spombs at 26 wraps (104 yards). The very final spomb before I was packing up, the rod snapped clean in half at the join between the two sections. To be fair to the seller, they sent out a new replacement straight away, but needless to say, I won’t be keeping this rod & reel and have already bought an upgraded setup.

Worked well for my first time at spodding. The braid did break twice but that was probably my fault for clipping up to short
