Works great from a far distance!!!
As a heads up, this review applies to the Hi-Vis Vest, Leash & Dog Vest (all seen in photos). While all three were purchased and made from different sellers/manufacturers, they all work great and this review applies to all three.I go on late night walks every evening with our dog anywhere between 9:30-10 PM, when it is quite dark outside. I have been doing this for the past 2 months with only a head lamp and a (weak) flashing light on my back. I finally decided to be safe and purchase some hi-vis equipment to keep our dog and myself safe.On night one I immediately saw a difference with the small handful of cars that drive on our road. (Note: Our road is somewhat a country road that folks use as a pass-through/shortcut to the main road and typically fly down at 50 MPH) Being equipped with our hi-vis gear all cars have been slowing down at least 1/4-1/2 a mile away. I can see and hear the cars slowing down once their lights hit the hi-vis strips. Additionally, cars on the same side and myself and our dog have been moving over to the other side of the road well before they get near us. This never happened before I purchased all of these. All three of these are great and I recommend them to everyone looking to be safer and seen during the night.

Safety for my daughter while walking or bike riding
My adult daughter is out and about everyday. Either walking on our tree lined, narrow streets. or riding her bike.As a driver I am always coming up to someone who is almost completely invisible until I am directly upon them; dark clothing, nothing reflective. SCARY for me as the driver. They dont think about the fact that they are walking in the tree shadows and cannot be seen. Or on a bike with no light or reflectors. So I got the vest for my daughter so I KNOW she will be seen while she is out. And YES it does work. Very visible. It is light weight, easy to adjust too.I WISH everyone wore this vest to protect themselves from being hit by a car. Seems like such a simple solution.

My proof that this vest keeps you safe
This vest is highly visible at night. I run with my three dogs on the shoulder of a very busy highway in New Mexico, and when I see cars' headlights in the distance approaching me (about half a mile away), I can tell that they see me because they usually put their high beams on and keep them on until they pass me. Most of the time, they also change lanes to the inside lane farther away from me, or they hug the median of their lane to give me more room! I used to wear flashing lights, but drivers seem to appreciate this vest more. When my husband is running towards me from the opposite direction, he says that the vest lights me up like a giant sign when his headlamp shines on it. I credit this vest for keeping me safe. Once, on a residential dirt road, a driver stopped alongside me and thanked me for wearing a high-visibility vest (back then, I was wearing a lemon-yellow vest), saying that it made it extra-easy to see me so that he didn't have to swerve to avoid me at the last minute like other non-visible walkers make him do. He seemed really appreciative and told me that he wished all runners and walkers would wear vests like this.

A must-have for night running warriors
I bought this to wear during the Hood to Coast Relay race, where you are required to have reflective gear on during certain hours. I'm a night runner in general, but I don't usually wear vests because I have strobe lights and a runner's flashlight and headlamp, so I'm pretty visible without it. Plus, I was always worried about vests falling off mid-run and me having to stop and adjust it or waste precious energy fidgeting to adjust it back to comfort. I wore this vest on a nighttime leg of Hood to Coast and not only did it stay put as it is highly adjustable, I barely remembered that I was even wearing it! It was not heavy, it didn't constrict me, and it didn't annoy me either. The wrist/arm bands were an added bonus. I live in DC where motorists seem to have trouble recognizing people trying to cross the street, so I like to make it as easy as possible for them without having to wear a street lamp and a fog horn and a huge yellow sign that screams I'M A PERSON CROSSING THE STREET SO YOU CAN WAIT 2 SECONDS AND LET ME WITHOUT KILLING ME PLEASE. Sorry, a little misplaced anger. I will definitely be using these as the fall and winter running months approach us.

Comfortable and highly adjustable, very reflective!
At first I was worried about just how much these things could be adjusted. When they arrived, it looked like it would fit Paul Bunyan...that said, in just a few seconds I had it cinched up to fit me perfectly. I'm 5' 5", about 140 pounds (and lean), and they could easily be adjusted for a smaller person. It is quite comfortable when running, and stayed in place nicely for me (some commented that it did not, but I had no problems). I think they key is allowing the waist strap to sit high enough and not rest at the hips. To add, these things are super reflective. They look minimal, but when lights hit them they really light up, I took a night run almost immediately and cars could definitely see us from pretty far off! Something I really like about these is that they are not stiff or bulky, and as I tend to overheated (fairly quickly) when I run, these don't feel like I have an entire extra layer on. It's just enough to hug my clothes, comfortably. Loved getting the extra reflective bands too, they can be used on wrists, arms, ankles...I put them on my calves just below my knees.

Can't get the shoulder straps to stay on
These straps seem well-made and do a good job reflecting light when I run early in the morning. But no matter how I adjust them, I can't get the straps to stay on my shoulders. They always fall off to the side after only a couple of minutes running. I have tried all manner of combinations of loose and tight on both the shoulder and waist straps and nothing seems to prevent slippage. I'm about a 30 waist and 5'10" and am using the small, so I'm definitely within the range specified for this size. I wind up just letting the shoulder straps dangle to the side and trust that the waist straps are sufficient to alert drivers to my presence.UPDATE: I figured out how to get them to stay on. I have to tighten the shoulder straps so the belt cinches midway up my torso. It's less comfortable to have it there than around my waist, but it's tolerable and I feel safer. I added a star (from three to four).
