CasioCollection Womens Digital Watch with Stainless Steel Strap

I've always loved the crisp elegance of an LCD digital display and thought it a shame that it has become synonymous with plastic cheapness. This watch, with its all steel and mineral glass construction, restores the classic LCD look to its rightful place and takes me back to the days when digital watches felt exciting and futuristic. The overall look feels more late 70's than 80's to me.Text on the face is minimal and uncluttered and the brushed finish on the case is superb (even the back looks great). The mother of pearl face appears essentially white in most lighting conditions with subtle pink and green hues showing through. It's only in direct strong light you get the sort of texture visible in Casio's images. I wasn't sure about it at first but it's really grown on me.Functionality is the basic time, date, chrono and alarm. One slightly annoying feature is that you can't stop the buttons from emitting a beep when you press them. Backlight works nicely - not quite as good as the Timex Indiglo system, but infinitely better than the useless sidelight they still put in the F-91W !The strap that comes with it feels a little cheap - I've swapped mine for a simple grey fabric strap which I think really suits it. Can't see why it's marketed as a women's watch - seems to look fine on my hairy arm :-)I've had mine about 6 months now and there still isn't a mark on it, so I'm confident this will still look great in years to come.

I have had a bundle of Casio watches over the years and in recent times I've been purchasing more, most have been replacements for the ones I had in my younger days that have since gone to calculator heaven.I already have a full metal G-Shock in stainless steel along with other Casio analogue movements and the like. Unfortunately most of mine are quite deep but still great time pieces. This watch is full metal and very slim in comparison.By accident I came across this item on Amazon that was full metal item, slim and had an uncluttered display. The description was for a woman's watch but the negative display version stated unisex. I think it's more unisex as it's arguably on the larger size for a ladies watch but on the smaller size for a man.I hit the purchase button and the watch arrived yesterday. The Casio packaging was better than I expected but not what you would call premium but a lot better than the standard Casio box.On the wrist it looks fantastic, I was a tad concerned about the mother of pearl surround but this is very subtle and really suites the minimalist exterior of the face and add a touch of elegance, The positive display is very readable. Not as good as my full metal G-Shock for sure but that cost a lot more than this purchase. It's the best I've seen apart from that.The case has a combination of highly polished areas and brushed parts that carries on to the bracelet. It is all very well executed. For anyone with larger wrists need not worry, the bracelet will easily fit larger wrists.In summary, an elegant super slim steel easy to read Casio watch that looks great on the wrist. If I had a gripe, it would have been nice to have better water resistance but I guess that would increase the size and cost. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I recently purchased this Casio vintage model Watch, and I must say it is an excellent timepiece. The subtle branding and minimalist approach to the watch face demonstrate a tasteful blend of elegance and simplicity.The stainless steel case feels solid and durable, The watch's weight is just right, giving it a substantial feel on the wrist without being overly heavy.

This full stainless steel retro classic digital watch is different from the most casino's that it has a reverse / negative LCD display which is very subtle and looks amazing particularly in daylight hours & at night time you have a very clear even backlight at the press of a button The watch fits me perfectly (7 inch wrist ) so is a unisex watch & feels a premium timepiece with good weight. Most Casio retro style watch cases are made from resin which are great but lack that quality feel. Quick delivery .Perfect gift for a man or woman.

I'm not sure why this is listed as a womens watch I believe the vendor would sell more watches if it was listed as unisex or as a mens watch, Casio doesn't specify. That's not to say it doesn't look good on a woman, it's a very pretty watch, it looks good on any wrist (mine is 7.5"). Smaller than most of my watches it's simple & elegant, the pearl dial is actually quite subtle in real life, interesting because of the stainless steel case, unlike most Casios, it does have a little more heft than say an A700 which is wafer like in comparison. Treat yourself, man woman or child, it's a little corker.

Beautiful and comfortable

Really classy stainless steel case and strap, consisting of brushed and polished elements.I believe the face may be mineral glass too, as opposed to the usual resin/plastic which is soft and easily scratched.The 'mother of pearl' face surround is a very subtle white/off-white, it doesn't seem to have that pink hue when you look at it with the naked eye.Overall the watch looks class, the only negative is that the watch strap links have to be removed to adjust the strap- it's not adjustable (like the Casio A700 with the mesh strap for example) by moving the lock/keep along the strap, you have to actually remove the individual links, which isn't easy at all without the right tools.My personal opinion is that this watch is awesome but the overall aesthetic of the Casio A700 is better.I bought this A1000 for £57 on Amazon, the price fluctuates quite a bit, I haven't seen it for cheaper than £57 so far so be aware.
