Not for me, please!: I choose to act green

Originally bought for my 4yr old daughter and now being read to her by her 8 year old sister. Both of them really enjoy it - easy to follow and lands the message without lecturing. It's made a big impact on them. Plastic straws are now out of the house on their instruction - and my 4 yr old is trying to save the oceans picking up one piece of plastic at a time!

Nice little story which my 4 year old daughter sat and listened too. Good moral message but the story is nice even without this. Few of the rhymes don't work for me but it didn't matter to my daughter.

Perfect book to Introduce environmental issues age appropriately.

Lovely book to help kids become more conscious about environmental topics.Would recommend for 4+ years old.

Eine ernste Geschichte über Bewusstseinsbildung, über unsere Umwelt und dem Erkennen, eigene Eintscheidungen treffen zu können. Liebevoll in Strophen gereimt und humorvoll inszeniert. Es fühlt sich an wie ein Ohrwurm zum Lesen, der trotz der Ernsthaftigkeit Spaß macht und zum Mitdenken und Mitmachen animiert. Sehr schöne Illustrationen bebildern das Buch von verzaubert bis realistisch. Bisher leider nur in englischer Sprache, die ich aber als leicht empfinde - mein Neffe hat das meiste verstanden und findest das Buch übrigens super. Ein Kinderbuch, auch für Erwachsene. Klare Empfehlung!

We had so much fun reading and discussing this book with our kids. We were amazed at how much they were able to soak in and learn. Already in the first days after, they are asking questions and more conscious of their choices and the impact they have on others. We also enjoyed the facts at the bottom of the pages. They really helped educate us as parents/adults. We find that the book even had a powerful impact on us. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in having an impact on the world around them and particularly helping their children discover the role that they can and should play in the world.

A wonderful way to explain and teach our kids more about recycling and taking full ownership of ones actions! My son directly started collecting straws off the ground. "Not for me, please!" sets the base for change: awareness and education. The rhymes make it interesting to follow and the additional info on the pages are provoking facts waiting to be discussed. With the beautiful design and the nice make up, this book is a also a perfect good night story.

My daughter loves this book! Beautifully written and illustrated the book is teaching our children on how to be more aware of the environment we live in and explains in an easy to understand AND fun way the consequences our actions have. It perfectly showcases easy examples how all of us can make a difference and a contribution to our nature & environment. It rhymes, it`s funny & on top it`s filled with nice illustrations. I can absolutely recommend the book for kids at the age of 5+

My daugther (3 years old) loves this wonderful written book and when she picks this book from her bookshelf so that we can read it for her she says "no plastic" and is asking all kind of questions around our environment. We all need to rethink and especially if our children learn about an eco- friendly lifestyle at an early age, we will be hopefully able to protect our earth. I can only recommend it.

We have enjoyed reading this book very much. It's a very relatable story about the problem of plastic in our daily lives, and the steps we can do to reduce / eliminate plastic in our lives. Through Luke, we learn how to act local while thinking about the global problem of plastic pollution. Luke is a great role model for our 4 year old daughter.The bonus educational information has helped the entire family discuss the depth of the problem.

Ein wundervolles Buch! Ein "must have" nicht nur für jedes Kind, sondern auch für den/die VorleserIn! Klasse Illustrationen, einfach nur toll geschrieben und dazu noch viele Hintergrundinformationen um den Wissensdurst der Kleinen zu stillen und Sachverhalte kindgerecht erklären zu können. Unbedingte Kaufempfehlung!!!

Such a great book to educate our children about the importance of protecting our environment and that every little step counts! Illustrated with a lot of passion. My boys (6 and 8) really bought into the topic and actually keep me and my husband honest now about actually DOING something. Can't wait for the book to be published in German :-) But translating works as well.

I read this book a couple of times with my children aged 9 and 5. It's terrific how Luke's story raised their awareness about the environment as well how we could contribute in our little ways in day to day things towards a cleaner planet. My children got creative and devised their own ways to keep their surroundings clean. I have been so proud and inspired by them.

This is the best book to teach your child to be more mindful about protecting nature, environment and saving energy. Easy to read and fun versed texts with additional stats on the side (this is more for adults). Totally recommended to read with your kids or as a present for friends' children. This will land a message in your kids' mind forever.

This is a special book that I recommend for all kids and parrents. It is full of facts on the impact of our actions on the nature & environment .It gives the kids simple actions how they help. My son and I love the book and we are very inspired by it to take action to go more green.
