The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

I bought this as a gift for my friend. This print of the Secret Garden is terrible. Grainy, ugly cover image, the book is strangely large while being thin, and the edges are sharp and cheap-looking. A terrible edition for this wonderful book. I ended up buying a more expensive edition for my friend and giving this book to the thrift store. Do not buy.

The book is very nice. There is good spacing between words.

Revisiting an old favorite for an adult book club. It holds up well, and I'm delighted to again have my own copy.

I cannot believe I had never read this in school. My oldest had to read it for his English class. I read it ahead of time. This is an endearing story of how a little girl changes from being selfish to selfless and a little boy who sees the world through new eyes. This is a must read for any child in middle school.

From the picture, I was expecting the book to be Penguin Classic size, but it's A4 - not large print. Feels weird to hold!It is a great book though and I'd highly recommend the story during these times of social distancing as one of resilience and the power of nature to effect healing and change.

Liked the story but this book is about A5 size, I was hoping it would have been a more std paperback sort of size.

Old story from years ago, the print was quite small plus very wide pages for a book.

Great value for money.
