AMAZING!! THESE ARE A MUST HAVE!!
Let me start this review by stating a fact. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER ICE PACK! We live in South Carolina and it gets pretty dang hot down in here in the summer. Heck, it gets pretty dang hot down here in the spring. I got tired of constantly buying ice every day when we go to the beach, lake, boating, camping…and we go a lot. I was determined to find the best ice alternative at a good price point and after reviewing a few products I decided to go with Cooler Shock. And I tell you right now, I am SO GLAD I DID! I bought the “original” foil Cooler Shock large 3 pack ice packs about 1.5 years ago. I loved them so much I bought another set, and then another…well, you get the point. I bought a lot. We have some for our soft side cooler for beer/water or whatever we’re drinking for the day. We have some for our large fishing cooler to keep our fish cold until we get back and can get home and get them cleaned. Well anyway, those were nothing short of amazing and were worth every penny I spent on them, but more importantly what I saved by not having to buy ice! Well, enough about those. I need to get to talking about what you came here to read about, the NEW and IMPROVED hard plastic Cooler Shock ice packs. I received the new hard packs on 10 July 19, filled them according to the instructions and placed them in the freezer. These new hard plastic ice packs feel and look like they are built to last. Unless you lose them or run over them with a tank, you will most likely have these packs forever. As with the foil packs, we plan to use these packs on the boat, at the beach, at the lake, camping, grocery store runs…the uses are limitless. I’ll give you a quick story about when we used our two hard packs in a Hopper 40 soft side cooler this past weekend. We took our boat out Saturday afternoon, 13 July, around noon and it was probably around 90 degrees outside. We had the cooler loaded with plenty of beer, water and Gatorade. I made what I call a drink sandwich. I put one ice pack on the bottom, add the drinks, then another ice pack on the top, and put drinks on the top pack. We fished well into the evening and got off the water at 1130 that night. We parked the boat at my cousin’s beach house and went back to our camper. The cooler stayed in the boat overnight. We unloaded the boat Sunday morning around 11:00 and put everything in the back of the truck. We headed for home, which is about 120 miles away, but stopped about halfway home for lunch and my wife did a little shopping. That put us at getting home 4:00-4:30 Sunday afternoon. I should have been surprised, but knowing how great Cooler Shock products are, I wasn’t. The few remaining bottles of water, Gatorade and one beer was still ice cold. The hard pack on the bottom was still half frozen but the one on top wasn’t frozen, but was still cold. I just can’t tell you enough or express how GREAT this product is. I have two hard packs for now, but that is about to change. I will be ordering another set or more in the VERY near future. So, after you read this, do yourself a HUGE favor and order yourself a set of three or more. YOU WILL NOT be disappointed. You will soon find out that ice is only needed for a glass of sweet tea and not a cooler. Cooler Shock is all you will ever need to keep everything nice and cold!! Feel free to ask any questions you may have about these AWESOME and AMAZING Cooler Shock hard packs. #NoMoreIce

Best Ice packs ever made!
First and foremost I love Cooler Shocks! Coming from a guy that uses both the soft and the hard packs every single day, 365days a year. These hard packs are Awesome and should last a long long time if not a lifetime. The cooling power of these are Incredable. You gotta try them! Both cool equally well the only thing with the hard packs is they will hold up even better to more abuse throwing beer, pop, water and food in and on them and moving them around taking them in and out of the freezer every day. They are super easy to fill with 7 cups of water and squeeze all the air out and screw the cap on.Done. Simple! Cool Away! The reason they aren't prefilled is shipping cost I'm sure. It takes 2 minuets to fill them from your tap so no big deal at all.Now some people might say they are pricey, but.... have you ever bought 2 bags of gas station ice for your cooler every weekend in the summer for a whole summer? Let alone every day or every other day like I do. Add that up and tell me they are pricey. They are far from pricey and will save you a ton of money on ice! And pay for themselves really quick! Plus you wont have to drain your cooler and deal with water from all the melted ice. Ugh.My Suggestion is to buy multiple Cooler Shock packs "soft or hard" so you can keep rotating them in and out of your freezer like I do. That way you always have a couple frozen packs to use when the ones in your cooler are exhausted. Order these Cooler Shocks!!!! You're gonna love them, and support US Made products from a great company and great people!

Stayed frozen solid for 30 hours!!
I buy a lot of things from Amazon. I rarely leave a review, good or bad. I just don’t have the time. Well, this is a rare exception because I am so impressed with these Cooler Shock Hard packs I felt compelled. They work almost too good! I bought 3 to use in an Igloo Ice Box boat cooler. This is not some yeti grade cooler. It’s just a square white cooler with wheels from Walmart. I placed one on the bottom and one on 2 of the sides. The front and back just left as is. During our travels we decided to make a stop at an amusement park in 85 degree weather. 16 hours earlier I packed the cooler and put it in the bed of my truck that has a cap. After a full day of fun and thrills we headed home. When we arrived home, and unpacked the cooler some 29 hours later, not only were my food items still cold or remained frozen, some items like a 1/2 gal of milk and a 1/2 gal of chocolate milk were slushy! I could not believe these were so cold it nearly froze my milk and the Cooler Shocks were still hard as a rock! The milk items were touching one of the Cooler Shocks but that is impressive. You should not have any doubts about buying these.

Hard packs are good to go. Stop buying ice.
I love the fact that these are hard packs. I have the original cooler shock. The only draw back on these and I'm not 100% certain just yet as it was above 90 on the day i tested and we went in and out of the cooler all day.Used 1 hard pack in an rtic 20 with 4ea prechilled 32oz gatorades (same as i would with the original packs) The drinks stayed cold all day until 3. I do think the original packs cool items to a colder temp. That could be because of two things. 1. These are not quite as thick as the original large packs (ice equivalency not the same). 2. There may also be some insulating factor with the blow molded plastic preventing that really good chilling effect you get with the original packs. I may need to use two hard packs in lieu of 1 original. However these are still hands down the best ice alternative! I should own stock just because of how much i love cooler shock!Just an fyi....i live my drinks ice cold. Like on the verge of freezing. I haven't bought ice for my drink coolers in 2.5-3 years. That's how well it works. It can and will freeze drinks.
