I was looking for a smaller gauge of wire for my project, but I couldn't find any... So I am stuck using this large gauge wire... We'll just have to wait and see...

These "two pole" connectors are of high quality. They are stiff as they are made of thick gauge copper wire. Even if you need them for a light duty application - still consider using them as you can remove some of the access wire from the center of the multi wire cable. What I do though is, I spread the wire into three sections, then I western union the center collection of strands with the thinner gauge strands of the lighter gauge wire. Then I solder this union. I then wrap the two outside strands of wire around the soldered section and then add more solder. I then wrap the connection with fusion tape. I started doing this as when I used the lighter gauge "two pole" connectors, the wires would always break off where they enter the two pole plastic housing. What's a western union connection? Google it and learn how to wrap it as it makes for a very strong connection.
