Great flag holder but terrible screws
If you buy this flag holder, realize it comes with screws but the first thing you should do is throw the screws in the trash. They shouldn't even bother shipping the screws with this. The actual flag holder is very robust and does a great job of holding our wooden flag pole. I took one look at the supplied screws and realized they aren't big enough or long enough to be effective. I installed it on our wooden pillar using three 2-inch galvanized screws, and this thing isn't going anywhere. It is very solid and I'm very happy with the holder. The holder itself is a 5-star item, but I marked this down to a 4 because of the screws. Either ship it with real hardware or just skip it and let people get their own. If you put this up with legit screws, you'll have a great flag holder. If you use the provided screws, you've been warned...

Great for wind storms
I’ve gone through a few plastic flag holders which all break during heavy wind storms. I’m sure with this one the actual wood flag pole would break well before the hold.It installs the same as the plastic ones, four screws into the siding of the house. It has a metal screw on the side to twist into the wooden pole.

No nut is not just a November thing
As far as flagpole holders go, this one works as stated in that it holds a flag. The locking nut needed was not included in the box though and without this nut…you can’t lock your pole in place.Not the end of the world but not super convenient either…no nut means less fun!
