The Official Rock Paper Scissors Strategy Guide

Undefeated since reading the bible of RPS!
After reading this lucid and impressive work, I am ready to turn professional. I don't think I will ever have to pay for a beer again, since now I always win RPS, thus forcing one of my buddies to buy the next round. I hope my friends don't read this review, because at the moment the playing field is tilted heavily in my favor. I feel like Mike Tyson in his prime. If you want to muscle-up and put some real power into your game, then this book is a must-read.

and its really not that funny after about 5 minutes
This is all a really long and elaborate joke, and its really not that funny after about 5 minutes. This is pure trash and should be deleted from existence.

Conflicts resolved
For some reason, where I grew up Rock,Paper,Scissors was not common in the schools or playgrounds. Enie,Meanie Miney Moe,Drawing Straws,Pulling petals from Daiseys,Coin Tossing, Throwing Cards or Coins to see who got closer to a wall,Tossing pebbles in the air to see who could catch the most,Shooting Baskets,Tossing a baseball bat and alternating who could be the last to grip it with one hand, and probably a few more I've forgotten about, were the order of the day.Of course in the local pool room, shooting a ball the length of the table and seeing who could make it return closest to the rail, without contacting it was called "Lagging" to used to decide who went first. I was fascinated with this book and completely unaware that people took it so seriously and there were actually World Champions and even a World RPS Society that governed the game or sport.Reading the book left one with the impression that it is still an honest sport and one can only hope that it stays that way.The only hope for that is that it never becomes an Olympic Sport and encompasses all the politics ,shenanigans, conspiracy, intrigue, conniving, and trickery, that has become prevalent with the Olympics. The writing style of the authors makes the book an interesting, informative and entertaining read, whether you have been deciding options using RPS for years, wondered how it was played, and maybe thought about using it to make decisions or resolve disputessolve disputes. As an aside;the City of Toronto has been in turmoil for years trying to decide whether to build Subways,LRT's or Streetcars. The whole procedure for years ,makes "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party" look logical and efficient. The people of Toronto would probably be better served if the dozens of agenda driven politicians were sent packing and 3 people simply played RPS and decided. It's likely the decision would be just as good as any the City Council makes;assuming they ever make vone.

Never have to take out the garbage again!
I picked up "The Official Rock Paper Scissors Strategy Guide" last night and started flipping through it just before calling it a night. The next thing I knew it was well into the wee hours of the morning, and I still couldn't put it down. From the insightful introductory essay by RPS all-star Master Roshambolla (on whether the game qualifies as a "sport") to the encyclopaedic glossary at the end, the book was readable, funny, and always highly entertaining.Clear (and humorous) photos and graphs keep the book moving at a lively pace when the text gets theoretical (or surreal) and the structure lends itself well to both cover-to-cover and "jump in and read a chapter at random" reading for those with shorter attention spans. The Walker brothers have taken the same considerable wit, brain and charm they've used to reinvent the World Rock Paper Scissors Society into a media darling and directed it towards crafting a book that has something for the experienced RPS player and the novice alike (as well as giving the layperson an inkling of why thousands of iconoclasts from around the world converge on Canada every year for the "Dance of Hands" at the World Championships).A must have for every Rock Paper Scissors game, club, or tournament - the insightful strategies and theories might not give you the edge to be the next world champion, but you may never again have to take out the garbage, or give up the last slice of pizza if you take its teachings to heart!

Very Complicated
I had to read through this book a few times, as it is quite complicated - I never really knew there was so much to RPS. I always assumed rock beats everything, but after my second or third reading I started to understand the intricacies of the game. I now choose paper everytime, and my winning rate has increased almost 1%

Quite literally, the essential guide to all things RPS
I really cannot say enough good things about this book. This is without exaggeration, the definitive text for all things RPS, and is a must-own book for any RPS enthusiast, regardless of experience level. The books release could not be more timely, coming as it does during a huge surge in interest in RPS (thanks in large part to the co-authors of this book, Doug and Graham Walker, as well as the RPS community-at-large), and right around the 2004 International Championships in Toronto NY (congratulations to this years champ, Lee Rammage). The state of the sport has never been more exciting. This text provides what I see as an essential and detailed view of todays fast-paced (and ever-expanding) world of Rock Paper Scissors, while remaining respectful to its rich history. Whether you are already aware of the highly rewarding activity that is Rock Paper Scissors, or are just thinking of starting on your journey towards more effective conflict resolution, this book is for you.Kennyballtooflat.com

Awesomest book of all time
This book rox my sox. I liked the book, because it was very helpful, because I didnt know how to play the game before I bought this book, because no one had ever taught me, because I guess that no one thought I had the intellectual capacity to learn how to plat the game, cuz I'm stupid. This book still rox my sox. Yeah!
