Pricey but worth it!
I'm an avid user of home assistant and IoT, hence the reasoning for looking at connected devices. Appreciate this is pricey and requires its own proprietary hub, but the piece of mind that no matter where you are, you'll get an alert if an alarm goes off to me is worth it.It also routinely tests the network and system to ensure all is working as expected. Super easy to install with various sized holes in the plate for drilling, and then just twist and lock the alarm which automatically turns it on.Had for a number of months now and no issues with connectivity or false alarms, also connected to a FireAngel CO alarm and an upstairs FireAngel smoke alarm which will all trigger each other if alarming.I would like to see an API for integration into Home Assistant / Home Kit etc. But can't fault the product. You pay for what you get, and in this case its a very reliable and first-class alarm which shouldn't be compromised

Great Gadget!
Great item if you have the FireAngel connect Pro smoke alarms. Simple to install! Monitors your smoke alarms remotely. Great if you have rental or holiday let. Advises if alarm is triggered, if alarm is removed from housing, if there is a fault, low battery, can run test also. Great item!!

Very good, but only once you know the trick on how to test them properly!
These are great, and I really want to give the 5*, but I can't - not quite.I've got three. They are relatively easy to install - just screw the base to the ceiling and clip in. Takes minutes. However, they essential function is to link them so they all alert together - that's what you pay the extra for the Pro version for. It took me a couple of hours of frustration and a call to their helpline to confirm that they were linked properly. The linking procedure seems fairly simple, but on testing them I got variable results - sometimes the other alarms would sound, sometimes not...The trick, it turns out, is a very subtly worded part of the manual. Once linked, when you test them, you need to just dab the button on one VERY briefly. If you do that then they will all sound the alarm. However, if you hold down the button for more than the briefest moment, the test applies only to that alarm and the others won't sound. Until you know this, testing them is darn near impossible. I even returned one as faulty before I learning this as I was sure it wasn't working (it probably was - just that the test procedure isn't crystal clear). To be fair, in some ways the lesson is to read EVERY WORD of the manual, but frankly this is an important aspect so they really should have made this much clearer in the manual.

Clever system - order and configure carefully
Ordered a few of these to meet the new Scotland homes requirements for Feb 2021. Fast delivery but soon realised that despite the images in the listing saying it is Alexa compatible (and the box side panel information), it is not compatible, unless you purchase the additional Gateway. The items all seemed to link as per the instructions, but the smoke alarms do not have any flashing LED's to show that they are linked and working (which is mentioned in the instructions), you have to assume they are all connected OK, or go through the link and unlink process until you work this out for yourself with plenty of beeps ringing in your ears. The smoke and CO2 alarms have flashing LEDs when configured. Tech support offered the advice (within 24 hours) to return the items if not happy about the non-flashing LEDs but a revision to the installation guide might reduce customer frustration.Testing all alarms (after a few mins) that are linked sets them all off, which is great, and the red LEDs flash at the same time. Each of our alarms are about 15 feet from each other., no false alarms. If you want Alexa or internet connectivity with their Fireangel App, you need to buy one Gateway as well for each installation, and configure it. You get a 5 year warrantee, and a 10 year battery life so a good few years peace of mind before you need to replace them.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Total waste of money terrible support
Don't. Just don't. If I could give 0 stars I would. Over priced and terrable product. The worst money I've spent in the last 10 years.Hard to pair alarms to each other and the gateway. 10 year batteries last less than 3 years. When the gateway "worked" the alarms would go off randomly for 5-15 minutes for days. Couldn't silence them without removing from the ceiling.More difficult to setup than any other smart home system. For devices to be added you have to put them in learning mode and then press the learn button on the gateway within 5 seconds. Why?The app is very poor. Can't remove devices directly. To remove an alarm, you have to go to the device physically and rerun the learning process. To remove a gateway you have to contact FireAngel customer support via email. This takes days. Two of the devices have failed batteries with in 3 years. Fortunately that let us know by going off at 4am on both occasions.Gateway losses connection to the internet randomly throughout the day.Took weeks of phone calls (if they answer the phone) and cyclic email conversations to get replacement devices.

Peace of mind which is simple to install
I have installed 4 FireAngel Pro Connected smoke alarms, 2 FireAngel Pro Connected heat alarms and a FireAngel Pro Connected Carbon Monoxide detector in my house, together with a FireAngel Pro Connected Smart Gateway. It took me an afternoon to set them up and install them, following the excellent FireAngel "how to" videos. Withe the associated app on my Android smartphone I can see that they are all interconnected, and can test them with ease. I can't comment on the battery life as I have only had them a few days, but if they come anywhere near the asserted 10 year life expectancy I will be happy. Overall I now have peace of mind that should a fire occur it should be detected and an alert occur in a timely fashion.
