It's a COT
To some, being elevated off the ground on a camping trip is important. As a life-long camper, I can tell you that there will come a time when you no longer jump up out of your sleeping bag in the morning, you come to realize the body can no longer do what the mind remembers as being easy. Thus, the elevation.I stand 6'-4" and weigh approximately 230 lbs so I got the military version as it was the longest.Setup is easy: remove from case, open from the middle, extend head and foot legs, stand on legs, attach head and foot bars. The cot held my weight easily, but it made an irritating squeaking sound whenever I moved during the night. The left side middle joint did not line up correctly (due to a manufacturing or assembly error).Lying on a cot is firm. Unless you sleep on your back and do not move while at home, you will need an air mattress to compensate for the firmness and to allow you to move without the limitation of the side bars.

Solid and comfortable cot with minor design flaw
I'm mostly happy with this cot. I'm a big guy (6'5" tall and 220 lbs), and am sufficiently comfortable on it (with the addition of the Teton 2" pad - I haven't tried it without the pad). It packs up into a reasonably compact package - not light, but manageable. When assembled, it feels very sturdy and solid, with only minor squeaking when I move around on it. I've had two adults try it out (one of whom slept on it over a two week visit) and both were pleased. My complaint, which is repeated in other reviews, is with the setup. Snapping the end bars into place requires quite a bit of force. I'm no weakling, but it is difficult to provide sufficient forward and downward torque to pivot the cross bar onto the frame without bending the bar's thin, aluminum ears. On my first assembly attempt, I ended up having to take out a wrench to straighten out the aluminum. Since then, I've successfully taken it down and set it back up a few times. Even though I kind of have the hang of it, it's still a pain to put together, and I expect that I'll end up bending the metal again. It's interesting that, in the company demo video, the vice president cheats and doesn't demonstrate the final step of popping the end bar into place.Assembly gripe aside, it's a huge improvement over my old air mattresses, and plenty big and strong enough for a large guy like me. Perhaps the assembly will get easier as the fabric loosens up with use.

I get a great night's rest on this cot
I bought this cot to use when visiting relatives. My wife and I no longer sleep in the same room due to my obnoxious, unrelenting, ear-shattering snoring. In addition my lovely bride had poorly done knee surgery. As a result, any contact on it is extremely painful. I use this cot for multiple days in a row. I combine it with a Thermarest foam/air mattress. I sleep as well as if I was in my own queen size bed. It is "firm" but supports me evenly and comfortably. At 6', 240 lbs, I am a chubby little elf. I feel secure on this cot. It hardly moves as I shift(read: toss and turn like I am on a BBQ spit). It seems sturdy as I get in and out of it. It formerly was quite "squeekie" with any kind of movement. That has largely dissipated. Assembly has become easier with use. Time and further use will determine how strong and durable it is made. To this point, I am satisfied and happy with it.

Sturdy, comfortable, but heavy.
I like the overall quality , comfort, and sturdy weight of the product. I read the reviews and realized that the assembly of the end cross pieces to stretch the fabric and lock the legs in place was a problem for some people. I set one end in place ( there's a post/notch alignment) and then used the cross piece as a lever to pull the fabric tight and align the final post and notch. This took several attempts. I will be putting up the cot in the back of a cargo van for cross country travel. There is a lot of room under the cot for storage. Plus, I will be leaving it up for travel, so the assembly is not an issue.

Great Cot. Comfortable Cot
This cot is comfortable, plenty big, and easy to set up... I saw plenty of reviews which stated it too two people to get the finals tensioning bar on. I did not find that to be true at all. After opening the box and without looking at any directions, it was out of the carry bag, and assembled in less than a minute. I find it comfortable all by itself, but I would also recommend a foam topper mattress of some kind. Iām 6ā-2ā 190. Plenty steady/sturdy for me.

So much better than old style cots with wooden frames
The cot has been set up permanently in a writer's shed and is perfect for an occasional nap.

Looked at a lot of cots before picking these....
Strong, well-built, comfortable, and nice and LONG! We will be using our pair with Thermorests on each, and spanned by an eggshell foam pad and a 2" memory foam pad.
