AVTech AVH304 4 Channel Push Video HD Video Recorder NVR built-in POE / PON

It only has four channels, but since my house only has four sides, this was the perfect solution for me. So far, I've only added one camera, but it performs as I expected. It's very quiet, as it sit's on my computer desk doing it's thing. I have it set to record motion when it's detected by the camera, and it does that very smoothly and quietly. The controls are very easy to use, and the app for the iphone, ipad, and android all work flawlessly, and since I own at least one of all three devices, I can attest to the fact that the app does do what it is supposed to. Installation of my hard drive was easy, and setup was not too difficult either. I admit it took me all of one night to play with all the different functions to figure out what the best setup for me was, but it was not tedious work (like trying to get the dang thing to work), but fine tuning the settings like the area of detection for the motion detectors, and the sensitivity, etc...Everything works, but expect to spend a day setting up your cameras, running the ethernet cable, and fine tuning all of your setting on this equipment. I like the hdmi output which produces a crisp, clear picture, unlike the old cctv's of a few years back. This is the latest technology for video surveillance and it shows on my monitor. I used a 3 tb sata seagate barracuda drive, and I didn't have to do anything to it. Pulled it out of the box and inserted it in the NVR. I did have to do a "clear hdd" in the settings, voila, I have 2.678 terrabytes of usable space. That should record a few days. LOL. The compression on the video is great, so it will probably record a long time before it starts overwriting. The playback is smooth and easy to operate. Hit the stop button and you are back to live video. This is a great machine. Sure you can find cheaper, but if you are looking for all the best features and highest quality picture, you will want to spend a little extra and get this one.
