Great Duophonic Synth
Plays nicely with Reason13 via midi (In and Out). Needed to watch some videos to learn what everything does but thatβs part of the fun!

Fantastic
I've always wanted an Odyssey from the 1970s... To be able to buy one with a sequencer, arpeggiator and Clarke effects... Fantastic!

Go for it!
I first bought a monophonic analogue synth (Jen SX1000) back in 1983..I stupididly sold it in the 80s! I bought my Behringer Odyssy six months ago and this has filled that analogue void...its excellent, well a well built beast and fun to use. Its a must! ππ

Incredible sounding synth, very well built, astonishing value, but why mono effects?
There is a LOT to admire about this synth, this truly is a very exceptional remake of the original ARP Odyssey. I would say better even. Very robust case (all metal), smooth sliders, lovely key action, and I find the soundmagnificent, hauntingly beautiful, which is the main reason I got it. Having the three low pass filters of the original version in the one model is great, with the flick of a switch you can select your "era". Still getting used to the sequencers, but that is a brilliant addition to the original and saves you from getting an external one, although you can use pretty much any make and model of external sequencer also (this synth has CV, gate and trigger in and out).Only one fly in the ointment though. The FX. It would have been the icing on the cake, but why oh why did the designers of this synth decide to clip its wings and only provide mono output, despite the fact that this is a standard FX module that is stereo in the first place? Even if they had routed the stereo out from the FX to a separate low gain output would have been better than this. Fine if you play on stage, but in any studio setting the FX box is, well almost pointless really, unless you are only looking for straight in your face delay. Chorus, ensemble, phaser and similar effects sound flat, uninteresting. there is even a "ping pong" delay (giving away that this is a stereo effects module that has been "butchered"). Furthermore the FX are, in contrast with the rest of the synth, a pain to use. Getting access to all the parameters is a pain, this module is clearly meant to be fitted in an FX pedal rather than on a panel. I would have happily lived without the whole FX (that is what I am going to have to do) and would still have paid the same!A shame really, but It looks like Behringer still needs to grow up a bit and start listening to customers before they finalise their synth designs (not everyone plays on stage Behringer, actually I am quite sure more than 9 out of 10 of your customer don't).Would I still recommend it over the Korg? Yes I would, because I think it sounds better than Korg's rendition and it is sturdier and much better value. But only 4 stars I am afraid, as the FX are a real disappointment.
