SamlexBBM-1225 (Battery backup Mod 12/24V - 25A) Charger Battery Charger

I use this DC UPS for my backup sump pump. The UPS gets DC power from a linear 12 Amp "13.8V" (13.72v measured) regulated power supply. When the backup sump pump is not running the UPS trickle charges a new lead acid 12V backup battery at the constant 13.72V and the current between 90mA to 110mA.Test:I simulated a power outage by turning off the DC power supply. Then I manually triggered the backup sump pump float switch to start the pump. The UPS used the power source from the backup battery. When I turned the DC power supply back on the UPS switched to use the power from the power supply. It worked as designed!

I installed a v meter on the load side. With 2 radios on recieve, it supplies just 12.2v from a fully charged 105ah agm battery. Not good! That drop makes a big difference in tx output. 65w radio is down to 45w. It does keep the bu battery charged. Gets hot (120ish) when charging a low battery. If you intend to use this for e comms, it would be a good idea to have jumpers to bypass this thing. Or better idea, spend a little more and get the power werx charger.

I installed in my Radio Repeater system..No glitches when switching between power sources. I set mine to float charge at 2 amps,does a great job.
